Proposed apartment complex in Mission receives mixed reaction

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A proposed apartment complex on the site of the former Mission Bowl received a mixed reaction from residents and businesses owners. The city of Mission held a public Zoom meeting on Monday to gather input from the public on the project by Sunflower Development Group that about roughly 30 people attended.

  6. Wouldn't call this low income housing as what we don't see here is any sq footage claims. Notice top tier rent is claiming to be 1900 a month which would probably be 2k by the time they are built. If HUD were to back the deal then yes low income style residents would probably move in and that's really not to bad as there is a Dollar General across the street sitting in the perfect location to support low income residents. Truth be known this is a shit piece of property and the city should leap at anyone wanting to pay the costs to build on it. That piece of ground has been known to flood in the past and yes it will flood again unless drastic measures are taken to prevent such.

    It's a great location.

    There's a nascent hipster vibe that could expand when young residents move in.
