New Lee's Summit school board member says 'students deserve better'

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Megan Marshall, the first black woman to serve on the Lee's Summit R-7 School District Board of Education, said the voices of students and their families can no longer be "discounted or brushed aside."

  1. Diversity and equity hasn’t worked out very well in Lees Summit. They tried it, now they want to do things the right way.

  2. What exactly is "equity training" other than just another make-believe "program" for self-appointed consultants to score multiple-thousand dollar contracts at the taxpayers' expense.
Any guess about the most important "qualification" for a diversity consultant.
Tale a look at the many millions thrown away every year by KCMO by funding anti-crime, diversity, social services, and all the other special assistance that "victimized" groups somehow need to cope.
The Lee's Summit school board should concern itself with educating young people and if Ms. Marshall now sees her role as representing one group, she should have said so during the campaign.
If she makes this her priority she'll disappoint a lot of people who voted for her.

FACT: One year ago, while addressing the board during a public comment period, Megan Marshall made racist denigrating comments directed at white people in general, used the term "White-splaining", and claimed that board members were racist and unfit to serve. Is Megan Marshall a Black racist agitator???

  4. When she refers to students and their families, she means only black students and their families. White, Hispanic and Asian students and their families may be safely ignored.
