KC's Fraternal Order of Police says ongoing protests challenging for officers

The Fraternal Order of Police in Kansas City is talking about the events and protests over the last week.The union representing Kansas City police says some members have consider quitting.

  7. If the cops quit I would love to start a movement to help them with whatever they need to survive until they found another job. I hope they do walk off of their job and let the mighty mayor lucas take care of the city. That would be awesome.
    Remember last time when they made the cops in Texas go out into a so called peaceful protest unarmed and five of them were killed! I would love to see our cops walk! Nation wide.

    On July 7, 2016, Micah Xavier Johnson ambushed and fired upon a group of police officers in Dallas, Texas, killing five officers and injuring nine others. Two civilians were also wounded. Johnson was an Army Reserve Afghan War veteran and was angry over police shootings of black men and stated that he wanted to kill white people, especially white police officers. The shooting happened at the end of a protest against the police killings of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Philando Castile in Falcon Heights, Minnesota, which had occurred in the preceding days.
