The cuts add up to about NINE MILLION BUCKS and now union leaders claim that that they can't do more with less like everyone across the globe . . . Take a look:
Kansas City Fire Department Union reacts to being asked to cut 4.5% of budget
As KCTV5 News first reported Tuesday, Kansas City is looking to make dramatic budget cuts in response to the economic downturn caused by the coronavirus. Every city department, including police and fire, are being asked to cut 4.5% of their budget.
That’ll cut down on BBQs and PlayStation subscriptions.

ReplyDeleteshould cut those scammers 45%, instead of 4.5
They’ll survive without it, suck it up buttercups, at least you didn’t lose your jobs or a business. They’re are far too many people in dire straights to be pissing and moaning about a lousy nine million bucks when you’re in a secure high paying job.
ReplyDeleteFix the ridiculous overtime policies and you could save way over $9mil. Crazy the amount of overtime a KCFD person can receive.
ReplyDelete4.5% is just the beginning of the budget cutting at KCMO city hall.
ReplyDeleteLucas and the gang have spent little attention to the actual reductions in revenue streams coming in the next months.
Shields probably isn't too far off in her estimates of hundreds of layoffs.
Bankruptcy comes very slowly.
Then very very quickly.
Especially to the clueless.
When the Negros chanted burn the city to the ground, I guess Our elected officials believed their stupid chants.
ReplyDeleteI was forced to take a full 10% pay cut at my job. Quit your bitchin'.
ReplyDeleteTime for KCFD to eat crow.
ReplyDeleteThis city needs 50% less firemen and 50% more police offers.
ReplyDeleteOne less trip to Price Chopper and the 4.5% cut is a non issue. Paying a front line fire employee in excess of $200,000 due to overtime should be a criminal offense, not a union contract. The revenue shortfalls will be slow in the making due to the monies from the feds.
