"According to the House administration records, Watkins has reported a total of $254,299 in communicating and advertising in the first quarter of this year. More than $92,000 on franked mail that include letters postcards and such, which are charged to the taxpayers. More than $161,000 in production costs. Some of it paid for a radio announcement on Watkins' support of the president's coronavirus agenda."
U.S. Rep. Steve Watkins is in a tough primary fight to stay in office. Watkins is spending more taxpayer money communicating with Kansans than any other Kansas congressional member. Watkins is a first-term Republican representing east Kansas. He is facing state Treasurer Jake LaTurner in the Aug. 4 primary.
