Kansas City Star Wants To Bring Down KCPD Chief: DO They Still Have Influence???

For those who peek behind the paywall . . . Here's a glimpse at the newspaper making a very obvious attack against the top cop. If he can last the rest of 2020 . . . The influence of the paper has obviously faded.

Check the link tease:

Is Chief Rick Smith up to the task of reinventing policing in KC post-George Floyd?

Ask any restaurant that made it through the coronavirus lockdown: Self-reinvention isn't an extravagance. It's a requisite for survival. After the brutal killing of George Floyd, the same can now be said for the age-old art of policing. It will simply have to be reimagined across the nation.

  1. Had no idea that George Floyd had anything to do with KC ? Are we also going to change for the White guy killed by police in Lawrence ? Maybe he was a gay or Indian. Then we will.

  2. Who killed the 3 black teen on Mass street in Lawrence ? You know right below black lives protest graffiti painted all over. Same type that killed the Black Tranny here in KC. Hint- neither were cops.

  3. As long as it’s black on black and they stay in their designated part of town then let them murder themselves, nobody gives a shit about those people, especially the despicable dimwits who’ve been ignoring them for I dunno, 150 years or so now.

Hey, maybe they’re on to something here!

  4. He's more up to the task of chief than you are of newspaper.

  5. I don't know if the Star has that kind of power anymore but they have showed us how they can take themselves down.

  6. they are few police leaders anywhere who could change the paradigm, as it needs to be.

  7. All people north of the river, with the exception of non-white people, are pleased with KC MO police chief Rick Smith; otherwise, not so much so. While the protests were in progress the chief was no where to be found and eventually found meeting and greeting the neighbors north of the river. If KC MO was nothing more than "Northland" Rick Smith would be the better option. Unfortunately for Rick Smith, KC MO does extend elsewhere and does include non-white people. Rick Smith is a racist.

  8. ^^^^^ Wow, a Racist calling someone else a racist - sort of like re-tweeting yourself and then agreeing with yourself in yet another tweet, but of course nobody sane does anything like that.

    1. Whereas it's perfectly sane to assign the serious charge of racism on no evidence at all.

  9. The leftist politicos repeat what the Star says and the Star repeats what the leftists say. It's the classic echo chamber. But only those two groups are listening.

BTW, is anyone else as agog as I am with anticipation of the Star's upcoming report on gun violence? Advertisements for the series appear at the end of every news story. I'll bet it will be really enlightening! Wonder what they will say?

  10. Most of the Reporters live in the JO.OR Other parts of the Metro. Why don't they do a report on the Johnson County Jail being Full. The Crime in the JO. THAT no one wants to acknowledge. And you know 80 PERCENT OF THE PEOPLE in the Metro don't care about the Star sometimes Fake editorial comments. They stated that the Russians were coming for 4 years. And it was the Chinese with there mad scientist spreading a virus. Yy

  11. This is fun to watch, most are being played by your politicians and the Media. Remember the organizers activist KNOW that a certain parts of the population are not playing with a full deck, and out of Tens of millions of people .They know the looters, rioters and unstable people will show up. ,,Burn, baby Burn, and will confront the Cops. And it will make the news. And the Media goes along with the Rioting.

  12. I think reforming the police department should go back to the old days of billy clubs and shotguns.

Folks pretty much respected the police and minded their own business.

  13. With a billy club; the police don't have to use the dangerous choke holds and other wrestling around.

  14. Interrogations with brass knuckles were also more humane.

Back then interrogations didn't go on for hours and the perpetrator quickly confessed and could go back home to catch some sleep.

Now days, interrogations may go on for 8 hours or more of questions and answers. Very inhumane.

  15. In Nam, if you had multiple perpetrators; throwing one out of the helicopter was a more humane form of interrogation for the one not thrown out the helicopter.

    ReplyDelete
  16. We would yell; Look out below ! A body falling out of a Huey can cause severe damage to a bamboo hooch. Not humane for the homeowners.

    ReplyDelete
  17. We used to yell "Geronimo !!" when we threw the perpetrators out of the Huey but we were told Geronimo was politically incorrect so we would just yell "Look Out Below" so as not to offend anyone.

  20. The Star didn't say they want to take down the Police Chief.

    They asked a question.

It will be great when these protests die down so you can stop race-baiting and day after day, post after post.

Like Trump, you aren't even bright or aware enough to be ashamed.

    Wow.

    1. And here you thought you utterly owned the issue of race, that no one else had a right to speak about it, and that your side had a copyright on the discussion. Every day that people question your self-contradicting woke tribalism is a further testament to the reeking dumpster fire of progressive politics.

Too bad for you. Also, if you were able to read and kept up with things you would know that the Kansas City Star has long since stopped being taken seriously on any issue at all.

Hey, I hear CHAZ or CHOP may still be accepting citizens. Run on out there and give us 500 words or so on the leftist thug's paradise!

Proofread before you publish, though. Please!!!

  21. NEVER pay money to get past the KC Star pay wall.

  22. but the closing of that column contained well-wishes for the success of the chief, so how can that get turned around to "star wants to bring down KCPD chief"? it wasn't a very long column to read all the way to the end :)
