Kansas City Star & Public Radio Team Up To Beg For Money From Fading Middle-Class White Progressive Community

This collobo is actually bad news for local journalism because it represents a consolidation of reporting, resources and opinion with fewer options for the local discourse . . . Even worse, it confirms the dead-tree media slouching toward the donation model wherein their influence will be even more subject to the whim their patrons.

KCUR and The Star Join Forces To Help Kansas City Navigate Coronavirus Recovery

We've written the words and relayed the sentiment so many times over the past few months: We're in this together. Think of all we've shared since then - and lost: Grief for those who are gone, awe for heroes on the front lines of the pandemic, deep concern for some of our most vulnerable populations, sadness for lost jobs and graduations and weddings, a strong desire to maybe just go to a baseball game.

  1. Their column identifies themselves as "the biggest and best news organizations in Kansas City".
    Delusion on steroids.

  2. Consolidation of the media is complete thanks to clinton doing away with laws keeping one person/entity from owning too much media.

Today all MSM is owner by 9 globalist persons and corp.s

Ever wonder why the news is the same no matter the channel or newspaper...they are pushing hard a globalist agenda.

  3. KCUR and the Star are no longer news organizations, they are propaganda organizations for gay progressives. They are both incapable of reporting unbiased stories. That is why they have to beg for their existence.

  4. KCUR and the Kansas City Star are Marxist propaganda machines for the Democrat Party.

KCUR should lose all taxpayer funding.

Their is no fairness or objectivity to their reporting. No facts.

  5. All stories in these media outlets are about dividing us by race, sexual preference, gender, etc. It's the way the liberal media keeps our differences at the forefront and tries to get each voting block to back liberal candidates at every turn possible. The results of these Democratic leaders are now plainly evident and it's not a pretty picture for anyone.

  7. uber-lib KC Star going broke, and sticking taxpayers with paying $535 Million in pensions for their "journalists":

"McClatchy has struggled to manage the liability of its qualified pension, a private plan for employees that was underfunded by about $535 million as of an accounting last year.In its bankruptcy plan, McClatchy is seeking to terminate its qualified pension and appoint the PBGC as its trustee, according to a statement Thursday"

  8. Why should a company pay for their former employees' pensions when it can get American taxpayers to do it? Sort of like when Obama-Biden sent billions of American taxpayer dollars to the radial Iranian leadership to pacify them instead of dealing with them directly and harshly. It was the easy way out and look how well that turned out.

  10. 10:25, point out precisely what you think is factually inaccurate. Or crawl back into your lair and hide like you always do when challenged.

  11. Fuck you Byron, you useless piece of shit and embarassment to your family and grifters everywhere. Just remember, whether you like it or not, every conaervative who pays their taxes is better than you and takes care ofbyour worthless ass.

  12. Both pinko liberal socialist organizations. Do not listen to anthing these limousine liberials say, they are two faced liars.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Both organizations are actually owned by the Democratic National Committee (DNC), just like all the other mass media outlets except for Fox. The DNC needs to cover those pensions that are about to go away at the Star, not the American taxpayer.
