Wind, heavy rain knocks out power to thousands across the metro
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - UPDATE, 8:30 a.m. | Evergy crews have made significant progress in restoring power. As of 8:20 a.m., the number of customers without power had dropped to 1,745. In the latest weather blog , 41 Action News meteorologist Jeff Penner says the rain will take a break this afternoon, but showers and thunderstorms are possible Saturday evening.
