What The 1968 Kansas City Uprisings Have In Common With This Year's Black Lives Matter Protests

The assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. and the police killing of George Floyd were just the spark for subsequent protests. Though 52 years passed between the two deaths, there has been little change in the systemic racism contributing to the outrage.

    2020: At a time when railroads were already laying off workers in the name of more efficient scheduling, the pandemic caused a significant drop in shipments, leading to even greater job cuts.

    Fort Worth-based BNSF, owned by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, has had to reduce its workforce at locations across its network in 28 states and three Canadian provinces, where it runs about 32,500 miles of track. The company, which operates one of the largest rail networks in the U.S., declined to provide specific figures.

  7. Blacks certainly were more sharply dressed back then. Probably more intelligent too. Hoodrats of today, and the lower middle class blacks that for some reason want to emulate hoodrat culture, just look so lazy. They make me want to turn the channel, not find out more about the "cause".
