KANSAS CITY MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS STANDS DOWN AND/OR 'DEESCALATES' AMID #BLACKLIVESMATTER PROTEST!!!

An important declaration for Kansas City residents tonight and a shift in tactics ordered from City Hall . . .

The Mayor's tweet proclamation:

"We have reached the point in our city and our country where de-escalation needs to be our guide. As a result, I will not be issuing a curfew order this evening despite that path being seen today in St. Louis, New York, and many other American cities.

"You also will see, different than before, there are no police officers on the line right now around Mill Creek Park. Current instructions are to respond only when needed.

"I talked today with our police, with several councilmembers, with activists--including several I met yesterday--and more. We cannot solve all wrongs in one action, but I will share this evening some changes that will help accountability and safety for community, protesters, and police.

"We support the right of peaceful protest and recognize how adjustments can help people share their message."

  4. This man shouldn't be involved with any protest. The racism against white people right now is bad and by other white people. This mayor was involved with the riots and so was Cleaver! Ferguson was bad but this is the last straw. Riots to burn down others property for something they had nothing to do with shows how ignorant black people really are and the white ANTIFA people too. These people were caught getting paid by the left and we all know who at least one of them was. Quinton Lucas has caused great division and he should be ashamed to act like that and needs to be investigated for hate crimes. My hatred for black people right now is so intense. I will NEVER have anything to do with them again and that includes renting to them. SICK PEOPLE Enough is Enough.

He's making the wrong decision for his city. You can't show weakness to people who are violent and threaten you. If he was smart he would support police. I understand that he has to show some alliance with the peaceful protesters but he should not give up on law and order. That is the wrong way and it makes the entire metropolitan area less safe.

  6. Dumbest move evar, does he think just by talking to whiny little teenagers it fixed everything? It’s the college age kids and up causing the problem at night, mayor deblasio has competition for stupidest mayor evar.

Antifa has been waiting for this exact moment and the boy blunder just handed them the keys.

  7. Thank you Mr. Mayor. You are doing the right thing here. There's no use in setting people up to fight. Some of those protesters are up to no good but we can't say that every police officer has the best intentions when dealing with our youth. I believe that we need to listen to these young people and do our best to understand their frustrations. Firing tear gas at a crowd of them is not the way.

Let's open the line of communications, not face off against one another.

  8. He is handing our city over to the lawless. Today the Plaza, tomorrow our backyards. This is so sad. With all the advisors and people who might just know what they're talking about THIS was the plan he came up with?

  9. Gayest move possible.

  10. Mayor Lucas deescalates??

You're the one who said "MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS IS WEAK ON CRIME AND FAILED KANSAS CITY...!!!"

    BWAHAHAHAHAHA

  11. I'm heading downtown for free stuff. Thanks pudding cake.

  12. The mayor and the city council concluded the Kansas City Police Department incited violence, more so than the protesters. The curfew enabled the police to act against the protesters without accountability. The police chief is a racist and wouldn't agree to a focus on deescalation. Give the mayor credit for not putting the citizens in harms way; harm from the police force tasked with the protecting of KC MO.

    This is the smart move.

De-escalation is what is called for, now.

  16. ^^^And yet the mayor has done a Trafficway job and all you’ve done is mess your diaper. Weird.

  17. Yes, he's done a Trafficway job, all right! He's all Road, don't you think? Been doing just Street!

  18. 7:15 & 7:27. The Police don't need to do shit in regards to listening to these youths (law breakers). The Police job is not to coddle anybody, they are the Authority. They don't need to be anybody's friend, brother, sister, social worker or whatever. They are hired to keep the peace, insure compliance of the law, protect life and property.

This narrative that the police is involved in an outbreak of killing blacks men is not supported by the numbers. Police kill more white people annually than blacks. Out of thousands of criminal/police encounters only a handful has a bad outcome.

Note: Criminals in bad health on drugs doing crime are at a very high risk of a bad outcome during police encounters. Jesus, a lot of hand holding is demanded of the police while having to deal with the scum of the earth daily. Does your job put you in harms way daily? Give them a break and some support.

  19. Lucas has already shown that he'll tell people pretty much anything that they may want to hear, but then reality rears its ugly head and he can't live up to his promises.
Just ask the "No More Rent" crowd.
Lucas has nothing at all to do with the thousands of municipal police departments throughout the country.
In fact he doesn't even know much of anything about the public safety operations in the town that he nominally "leads".
The horrendous homicide rate in KCMO continues unabated and all this damage and destruction and extra police spending is over that happened in another city.
    Charity begins at home.
Clean up your own house instead of making believe you have any influence in the affairs of other cities.
Lucas needs to learn that this is real life, not the college lecture hall.

  24. Byron calls Quinton’s plan a smart move. Anytime a retard agrees with a plan, you know the plan is a really bad idea.

  25. Lucas knows that, even if all hell breaks loose again tonight, the media will cast no blame on his latest attempt to gain some national media mentions.

It's just another version of a selfie . . . with zero risk of condemnation or accountability for him.

  29. The disgusting image of Mayor Meathead should be replaced by an image of city hall. Much more appealing to human eyes, than the self-glorification seeker, too often see on electronic media.

  30. The Boy Blunder does it again. Usually you have to pay extra for this kind of comedy. Well actually you do pay extra in Kansas City. Extra sales taxes. Extra hotel subsidies. Extra new airport bailouts. Extra sewer fees. You have to pay for your own security if you have a storefront. You pay. You pay. You pay.
