KANSAS CITY #BLACKLIVESMATTER PLAZA PROTEST SLOWLY CALMS DOWN!!!
An early assessment from Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas . . .
@QuintonLucasKC: "From what I have heard, last evening was the calmest night thus far of protests with the beginning of efforts to de-escalate. I am glad to see it . . . I expect the progress we see tonight to continue.
"I know there will still be concerns and we will hear them and address them. There are improvements that can be made further no doubt, but my hope is more communication and less escalation can help important messages about justice be centered and amplified."
"And can help everyone—officers, protesters, bystanders—stay safe."
