Journalism: Kansas City Hipsters Watch Pay Cable Waiting For Local Mention

Proving that the "alternative" local media has lost touch with this town and it's history . . . The Pitch doesn't know social justice from Legoland.

Nevertheless, here's a look a throwaway line from John Oliver winning local hearts and minds:

We made 'Last Week Tonight' for the second week in a row for being embarrassing; cool

Yet again this week, Missouri made "Last Week Tonight" on HBO. In a format that he described as "a little bit different," John Oliver dedicated his entire June 7 episode of "Last Week Tonight" to America's current state of policing and the potential ways it can move forward in the aftermath of George Floyd's death.

  6. Just remember that all the wildly excited and dedicated young people were going to come out and make Bernie Sanders the nominee.
Then Bernie lost election after election after election.
Social media and late-night TV isn't going to win an election.
And the SJW crowd isn't going to vote for anybody who doesn't bow to their every demand.
Which is no one (except for smiley selfies Lucas, who will also shortly terribly disappoint the "defund the police" crowd.)
    All entertainment, all the time.

  7. That show used to be funny -- about 5 or 6 years ago. Then he hired more women and black writers and the quality has gone down. Unfunny jokes, stale obsession with sex jokes. Too bad.

  9. ^^Food for thought.
