435 employees at 2 Crown Center hotels affected by furloughs, layoffs
KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- A total of 435 hotel employees who work at two hotels at Crown Center are going to be furloughed, laid off, or have their hours reduced. According to a document that showed up on the WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) list in Missouri, the employees work at the Sheraton and the Westin near Crown Center.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure that the first month was overreach, there is real science behind the concept of "flattening thr curve". Once that effort succeeded and the threat of exceeding hospital capacity passed, the orginal "sell" of shutting down the economy was no longer valid.
ReplyDeleteExpect many more companies to take similar actions soon. As PPP expires, (which artificially incentized employers to maintain unused labor) and revenues don't quickly return, it's the only option remaining.
