VISIT KC HYPES LOCAL REOPEN!!!

Right now we share late night inspiration from this taxpayer funded tourism organization that has commandeered a great deal of budget cash & neighborhood funding over the years. Here's an earnest bit of promo showing the nicer side of this town when we're not screaming about politics or shooting one another over personal and/or drug beef.

The premise:

"It's clear that absence makes the Heartland grow stronger. This city of makers, doers and champions has always been a creative, resilient community first—and we're looking forward to seeing you again soon."

Take a look:

  1. Great commercial. Probably had a discount. Maybe only 20 grand out of the general fund for this one.

Glad to see locals working together and city hall promoting LOCAL biz for a change. Don't be a typical KC hater. These kinds of marketing efforts are necessary for every city and KC's are better than most.

  5. You can tell the Star is trying to keep coronavirus mania hyped up. Many of their headlines make it sound like the world is crashing down because of the virus. I'm sure they like the increase in readership based on people wanting coronavirus updates and to run counter to Trump's attempt to get Americans out of their homes and back in the saddle of societal norms.

  6. ^^^^ Of course you mean Trump's attempt to get Americans out of their homes into big packed crowds to spread the virus.

    4. It's pretty much out there for anyone who cares, and who is willing to listen.

      Guess you don't care.

So go catch it! Enjoy. Maybe you'll die or have serious lifetime debilitating side effects!

    5. Oh, wait! So then you understand the science that suggests that the virus poses highly variable risk to different ages, that it's not that transferable on surfaces, and that we've vastly overestimated both the actual risk and the number of deaths.

But it doesn't sound like you do. Haven't gotten today's dose of media panic I guess. :)

So bitter and do mad. Go outside and stop wishing death on people, you sad creature.

  8. BIG KCMO! Hyping it up with the hope of luring more newcomers to the "big city" so all our corrupt local politicians and their cronies can continue to rob, loot, cheat and steal from anyone unfortunate enough to get stuck here.

    Works like a charm!

  9. With so many airline flights canceled, KCMO isn't even flyover country any more.
Just another little burg somewhere west of the Hudson River.

  14. The Dems want to keep everybody in their homes, damage businesses beyond repair, and more people needing government assistance so they can bring their socialist dreams to fruition. "Burn it all down" must be their secret internal mantra. Biden has lost his mind, and he is the best candidate the Dems can come up with to help America? The man can hardly put two sentences together without making a mistake.

  15. In hindsight, it would have been better to keep businesses open and put into practice the procedures recommended now. People are dying from not getting their regular checkups or cancer symptoms checked until it's too late. Worldwide, children have missed vaccinations so they will get more diseases and perish. Suicides and overdoses are way up.
