TKC MUST SEE!!! KANSAS CITY FIRE FIGHTER SALES TAX INCREASE CAMPAIGN CHAMPIONS CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE!!!
A theme emerges for the June 2nd tax increase campaign . . .
KCFD SALES TAX INCREASE SUPPORTERS CAMPAIGN FOR THE CORONAVIRUS VOTE!!!
Click the images for a better glimpse at the pitch to the electorate and a reminder of how KCFD helps to keep residents safe.
This mailer tones down recent warnings about coronavirus to voters and instead refocuses on first responders helping the community stay safe. Meanwhile, even the fiercest tax fighters admit that the increase in cost of living is headed toward a landslide victory.
Developing . . .
This one is much better than the last. Actually sells the services they provide rather than scaring voters.
ReplyDeleteMany janitors at school and hospitals provide those same services. Yet they don't get a pay increase or taxpayer funded overtime.
Delete^^^
DeleteBut they should.
Weird.
Let's see the number of emergency calls directly related to the virus. Most medical calls go to nursing homes and to pick up the elderly who fall. Not a reason to need more funds.
ReplyDeleteEven if the fire department does need more funds the city is going to use these funds however they want, probably to pay off failed development projects.
and police are almost always there first.
ReplyDeleteand yet this passes easily. See you at the victory party. Weird.
ReplyDeleteMaybe not. People are tired of KCFD bulls**t and their bullying. Issue could go down in flames.
Delete^^^If you see anybody at the victory party it will be on TV, because you aren't going anywhere. Never have, never will.
ReplyDeleteBut..I thought KCMO taxpayers were told that the 1% Earnings Tax had to be renewed for public safety (police and fire).
ReplyDeleteWhy does City Hall and the public safety unions always claim they'll be forced to make drastic cuts and the city will likely burn down if taxes aren't renewed/increased?
KCFD IS A RAGING INFERNO WITHIN THE KCMO BUDGET
Fiscal Year 2020-21 = 194.6M, of which 37.3M is Fire Sales Tax
Fiscal Year 2019-20 = 188.1M, of which 36.3M is Fire Sales Tax
Fiscal Year 2018-19 = 174.6M, of which 21.3M is Fire Sales Tax
Fiscal Year 2017-18 = 166.3M, of which 20.7M is Fire Sales Tax
Fiscal Year 2016-17 = 155.3M, of which 8.8M is Fire Sales Tax
I reviewed the last 5 years. The KCFD budget has ballooned 25% in that span. The portion of the budget from the Fire Sales Tax has more than quadrupled!
Trust, but verify my data above:

Excellent info. Thanks for the effort.
DeleteFor years the city fought the firefighters unions and lost the PR battle. They finally realized its more profitable to give them what they want and use them to raise taxes that can be used for other purposes.
ReplyDeleteand yet this passes easily. See you at the victory party. Weird.
ReplyDeleteGot anything else to add besides your weird comment? If not, stow it.

ReplyDeleteDemocrat greedy Firefighters Union slobs scamming the taxpayers.
^^and yet they always win, while you always lose. Slob.
ReplyDeleteI won't be at the "victory party" because several years back I voted with my feet. I do care about KCMO because my federal and state tax dollars will eventually be used to bail the city out when they finally go bankrupt.
ReplyDeleteDon't need a big tax increase for the Fire Department to send out a flyer to tell folks to wash their hands.
ReplyDeleteOnly thing Fire Fighters do these days is eight of them sit on the shoulder of a road in their air conditioned $.5 million dollar fire trucks, scratching their balls watching EMT personnel sort out the carnage of car wrecks.
The fire fighters then go back to the fire station; sit on their recliners, watch NetFlix, take a long nap and get paid by taxpayers. Great gig, but you have to have a relative already in the fire department to get hired.
^ You forgot how much they play X-Box.
Delete^^So. This passes easily and I'll see you at the victory party. CHUD.
ReplyDelete^^Food for thought.
ReplyDeleteNO, NO, NO, NO!!!
ReplyDeleteKansas City Missouri And the Great HOAX .A FEW times a year The City puts it hands into its,Citizens pocket. And they go for it. There is a sucker, born every minute. They are paying taxes and standing in the bread line .And yes they will vote for more taxes. To fund the City's Pensions.
ReplyDeleteJust cut back on the station BBQs!
ReplyDelete^^and it STILL passes easily. Weird.
