TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY 10-10-10 REOPEN PLANS FAIL ON FIRST DAY!!!

The reviews are in and Kansas City's "new normal" for doing biz has been an abysmal failure.

One Westport merchant earned social media celebration for his estimation of the new rules:

"Dr. Rex and Mayor Quinton want me to run my business like a soup line. It's not going to work. This is the worst of both worlds. I'm losing out on benefits that are available if I'm closed and forced to limp along as if I'm doing business in some Cold War Eastern-Bloc Communist country."

Do your own research and find the quote yourself, it has over 100 shares and about 500 comments at the time of this writing.

But more important than a whiny biz dude is the "analysis" of our blog community . . .

ARE THE KANSAS CITY 10-10-10 REGULATIONS VIABLE UNTIL THERE'S A CORONAVIRUS VACCINE?!?

We offer that benchmark given that MSM seems to report that there's no real relief in sight until that point.

Here are more optimistic resources to inform local opinion:

Fox4: KC officials say city not ready for large venue events yet

KSHB: Some KC nonessential businesses reopen under strict rules

KCTV5: Many Kansas City businesses take it slow during “soft re-opening” Wednesday

You decide . . .

    1. Westport merchants have been Kansas City's biggest crybabies since the 70s. Complaining is part of their business model.

    2. Actually, he's got a point. Especially about the soup line. I swear I heard "No Soup For You" At my favorite Plaza restaurant today.

  2. Vaccine?

That sounds nice but probably won't ever happen.

At least a better plan than injecting bleach. DON'T DO THAT! Not even if you're a Trump voter.

    1. No actually it's a good idea for trumpets. It's amazing hypocracy that they haven't all done it since they insist his shit smells like warm hamderders.

    2. I'm gonna go get me a hamderder.

    3. Trump never said to inject ourselves with bleach. Typical liberal progressive fake rhetoric. Anything to make our President the “bad orange man” even if they need to make it up. Sheesh grow up.

    4. You know who was bathing in bleach while her husband said Trump wanted people to inject it? Well her name rhymes with Cuomo, and her husband works at CNN.

  5. With Lucas, how well a plan is thought-out or whether or not it's even remotely feasible or practical isn't what's important.
It's THE ANNOUNCEMENT on TV and social media and Lucas' smiley selfies face in public!
And maybe even a mention in the New York Times.
KCMO is nothing but a front-man for the Lucas Show for the next four years.
Residents and local businesses as extras!

  6. The rules are designed so that certain businesses shouldn't open because a) it would be pointless to do so, and b) it would only serve to spread the virus.

    Get it, Mr. Celebrated-on-Social-Media?

  7. The Mayor and Council are a nightmare. They put everyone in lockdown except themselves. They should have not be receiving their full pay. I'm being generous when I say they should just get the $600 unemployment like everyone the put out of work.

  8. 9:11 Kathryn shields great idea is to lay-off and or furlough a bunch of city workers, she wants the federal government to pay them. Now in her world that leaves more money for her developer buddies to keep getting easy money from the taxpayers. Hey Kathryn, why don’t you stop taking your full time pay for your one day a week of work, you have a rich husband to cover for your losses, you probably won’t know it’s gone, but the poor city workers who live paycheck to paycheck that you’re so easily gonna sacrifice have kids to feed. I bet you won’t lose one ounce of sleep over those starving kids screams will you?
