TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! HERE'S WHY SOME KANSAS CITY VOTERS STILL BACK BIDEN!!!
Former Veep Joe Biden is busy doing damage control from his bunker and now confronts the full brunt of right-wing backlash regarding an alleged sexual assault.
Still, the outcry from conservatives regarding hypocrisy doesn't really convince many voters that the GOP suddenly cares about the rights of women -- At least those who don't toe the party line.
To wit and with special thanks to one of the most brilliant TKC READERS . . .
HERE'S THE POLITICALLY INCORRECT REASON MANY KANSAS CITY VOTERS DON'T BELIEVE TARA READE!!!
And now TKC will step far, far away and allow this local leader explain the complex politics of the situation off the record but in a way that's more practical than what pundits and politicos are allowed to utter in other media . . .
Kansas City Progressive Re: Tara Reade
Normally I take the women's side of an allegation of sexual assort. But the accusations against Biden by Tara Reade just seem so suspicious. She never said anything during the height of the me too movement, nor when Biden was being vetted for Vice President. What's changed now that would make her come forward? Maybe a presidential race where the Republican party are afraid they might lose?
I'm not taking sides here. That's for Biden and a possible investigation to handle. But it just doesn't seem credible.
Just another side to the Tara Reade story.
Medium: "Biden Accuser, Tara Reade, Allegedly Stole from Non-Profit Organization"
If true, the allegations seem pretty intense.
This viewpoint also makes sense:
UST: "Why I'm skeptical about Reade's sexual assault claim against Biden - Ex-prosecutor"
And then there's this. Allegedly the description of Biden's attack on her were (reportedly) lifted from her father's book.
Daily Kos: Biden Accuser Reade's Allegations Match Scene from Dead Father's Novel.
The money quote in this article: "Reade (ALLEGEDLY) pilfered her dead father’s work for her allegations against a presidential candidate. That’s about as low as one can get IMO."
And so, from our vantage . . .
Independent voters are once again confronted with a great many contradictions. Conservatives pundits ignore the 25 women who have accused Prez Trump of some form of misconduct and now play #MeToo advocate and demand voters to "start by believing" a woman's story without further investigation. Meanwhile, many progressives have quickly stepped back from strident and total support for the long ago recollections of a woman's assault story as they did during the Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh investigation.
To be fair, right-wingers successfully argued a valid point early on when they demanded the controversy earn coverage from mainstream news outlets who seemed hesitant to consider the many faults of President Trump's opponent.
Still, in the final analysis, as usual, only the willfully ignorant trust that advocacy related to the 2020 presidential contest represents anything but a cynical power struggle that always ends up disappointing true believers.
