SHOCK!!! MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS DUMPS 10-10-10 PLAN AFTER RESTAURANT REBUKE!!! NEW KANSAS CITY REOPEN COVID-19 FAST & LOOSE RULES DEBUT!!!
The mayor backs down and to local restaurants in one of his most public and historic tacit admissions of defeat . . .
"Under the plan, there must be 6 feet of separation between different parties at tables, tables will be 10 feet apart, bar seating is not permitted, and the 10% occupancy limit that was initially part of the recovery plan released on April 29 will no longer be in place."
Moreover . . .
"In addition to the updated restaurant guidelines, places like playgrounds and dog parks will also be allowed to reopen along with gyms"
These new guidelines will take effect at 12:01 a.m. Friday, May 15 and remain in place until at least Sunday, May 31.
Last word belongs to Mayor Lucas:
“We continue to encourage all Kansas Citians to limit non-essential outings, to wear masks while in public and to maintain social distancing,” Mayor Lucas said. “COVID-19 remains present throughout the greater Kansas City region, with serious potential health consequences for those infected. We will continue to balance the public health and economic needs of our community as we continue our road to recovery. The guidelines we’ve announced today seek to protect restaurant patrons and employees as our region continues to grapple with the effects of COVID-19.”
