SHOCK!!! KANSAS CITY CORONAVIRUS COULD SPREAD IF CITY HALL DOESN'T GET FED CASH FROM COURTHOUSE!?!

A bold argument for cash assistance from City Hall leaders who seem increasingly desperate for Federal cash.

Checkit:

KMBC: KC still hasn't received federal money from Jackson County to fight COVID-19

Deets and money line:

Mayor Quinton Lucas said the money is key to fighting the virus.

"I think this money is very important for first responders. It is vital for increasing and enhancing our testing. There are contact tracing opportunities. That's why we keep working on it," Lucas said.

The state said the county can split the money with cities in its boundaries. They're also offering an agreement between the two. Part of it, assuring Jackson County it will not be on the hook for any misspending and that it will compensate and protect the county.

The city's health director said without the money, the city's containment efforts could fail.

"We will then spread the cases back into the rest of the metro area if we can't get support," said Dr. Rex Archer, director of the Kansas City Health Department.

  2. The County is the suppose to be in charge of China Virus response not the City. NO money to the City.

    1. It would seem the county could do whatever it is the city is planning. But will it?

  3. Rex Archer is flipping crazy, he’s been on tv and vlogs screaming about thousands of deaths if if if, get rid of this clown and fast.

Troys trick is to leave this money sit in the bank as long as possible to draw interest and make more money, the problem is it’s needed now, it’s just a game to him, always has been.

  4. The police dept and the fire dept serve no purpose in the pandemic issues. The police are out chasing speeders. Lord knows where the fire dept will have its next BBQ. Jackson County has a health department and KCMO needs to learn to work with the county health departments. The counties aren't going to bail out KCMO with the stimulus monies.

And no one cares one way or another about police and fire except the unions and the politicians elected with the support of the unions.

  5. >"I think this money is very important for first responders. It is vital for increasing and enhancing our testing. There are contact tracing opportunities. That's why we keep working on it,"

Said the boy mayor who quite literally destroyed the economy of his city and crushed his tax base with his ill-considered edicts. What a moron.

  6. Every time someone posts something like,

"^^^^ +100 on this comment. Obviously from somebody who knows their stuff.",

that's the same guy posting twice in a row.

It's not good enough to just express your missguided opinions. You have to pretend someone else supports them. Lame!

  9. Just take a brief look at how KCMO actually spends its tax dollars.
Then imagine how "effectively" millions of federal dollars would be spent "addressing" the virus emergency and the intelligent, well-planned, supervised, overseen, and accountable activities that could actually make a difference for residents and businesses in the city.
The money will be thrown away on consultants, insiders, fake nonprofits, campaign contributors, and outright grifters, just like it always is.
The whole Lucas/Archer "sky is falling" show is about nothing more than money.
    Sad.
