Words From World War I Echo Eerily a Century Later

They were brave words on the way to the battlefield. "Moonlight nights have been wonderful...," Fred Nason Furber wrote to his sister Alta, describing the precious few distractions available aboard his troop ship during its August 1918 Atlantic Ocean voyage to Europe, "but the other element to make them complete is lacking wholly."
