Kansas City Faith Blogger Contemplates Rise Of Pandemic Prophecy

The pulpit has more power in time of plague. Here's this somewhat skeptical glimpse and review of news voices . . . Checkit:

The need for prophetic voices now

The coronavirus did not cause all the problems in society that we've been experiencing during the time since this pandemic exploded on us, but it certainly did reveal them in case someone hadn't noticed them before. So as faith communities...

  1. Bill, can you retire again please?

  2. Bill's kind of like Clay, keeps saying he's going but never does. Just as annoying too.

  3. Nobody every told Tammeus that arrogance and ignorance are a terrible combination of traits. Sadly for him, he excels in both.

  4. Why try to interpret the Bible? Just simply reading it will be good enough.

Appeared Bill was starting to blow smoke but refrained just in time.

  5. Who are you kidding? Bill doesnt believe the Bible. He has as much as said so. But he still has his gig. He wants it both ways. The old fraud...I recognized him when he let those local atheist trolls actually threaten people on his blog while censoring others...

  6. The fact that God didnt just wipe out all of mankind thousands of years ago shows he is merciful. He could have. People are evil and against God, who is good. People are at war with God. But he doesnt wipe us all out. People in wars have killed many more than the coronavirus ever will. We are our own worst enemy. God is also rightly a jealous God. If you put other "Gods" in front of of him like sports, world travel, dining out, entertainment, careers, money and earning power - then is he angry. So the coronavirus he allowed took those away for a while to test people and see if they can get back on the right track. If you read the Bible then it clearly states where God has killed many people who were his enemies, from Egyptians, to babilonians, to assyarians, worshippers of "bale", its nothing new. Spite God and your going to get a reaction from him. Its nothing new.

  7. It doesnt surprise me that Catholics do not see this virus as a warning from the almighty. I was talking to a Catholic Jesuit Priest. I got him backed into a corner and he said "Jesus failed in his mission, he was killed, he can't give you any salvation". The priest went on to say that good works, repeating prayers, praying to Mary (who was successfull), and attending all the masses will get you close to heaven. But after you die and go to puratory you work your way to heaven yourself. I told him - I cant even get a promotion at work after 10 years - how am I going to work my way into heaven? Catholic Church is built on the belief that Jesus was a huge failure - so you gotta work your way to heaven yourself. Really? What would Jesus have to say about that? When I told the priest his view was a insult to Jesus he walked away. What a loser.

  8. Dude, I used to live in the U.K. There is a long history of the Catholics murdering Christians there. They hate Christians. People think Catholics are "chrisitans" but they are not! Google "Foxes's Book of Martyrs". It outline the names, ages, occupations and type of death the Catholic bestowed on Christians -even kids, even whole families burned at the stake or gutted or hanged or drawn & quartered. Yes children. All because they were Christian. Dont ever make the mistake of thinking Catholics are Christians. I dont know exactly what Catholics are.....but they are NOT CHRISTIANS.

  9. Elizabeth (surname possibly 'Lewis') blind maid, burnt 18 June 1557 Maidstone, Kent

I googled "christian Martyrs killed under queen mary" and got a list of ordinary, old, and poor people burned alive by the catholics. The one above must be really sad as she was blind. She was burned just 350 years before my dad was born. Yes, Catholics are not Christian. Anyone with a brain knows that!

  10. Well, Catholics are Christians. For those who don't know the first pope was one of the twelve disciples. Can't get any closer than that to Christ.

People over time make mistakes. Weather it be Catholics or Protestant religions doing the killings long ago we'll never know for sure. None of us were there.

I'm Catholic. What does Protestant or a Protestant religion mean anyways? It's something I never had to learn.

Billy blows smoke from some ditch choom, apparently. "But,does God arrange to kill tens of thousands of people to get that message across?" "If so, that's not a God who would attract my allegiance."

Yep, simpleton Tam O Shamster, can only believe in a benevolent God. Baddie God who doesn't let everyone have wealth, beauty, and have perfect lives full of ever present bliss is no good to Billy. With that belief, it follows that God must be blamed for all the bad...like, say, a philandering pastor who sinned with Bill's unfaithful spouse.

  12. God kills who he wants to kill. And spares who he wants to spare. When Jobe asked God why troubles were brought upon him and his family, even though they were very godly people, the best in the world - God replied "who are you to ask me why? Can a jar ask its maker why it was made?" You cannot comprehend God and his plan. God does not need your allegiance and he has a plan for those that will not follow him. God allows the evil that man brings upon himself sometimes. So that man might see how frail he is and that someday he will die. God used to use prophets that would visit cities and tell people to shape up or a bad thing was going to happen. If they repented, they were spared. But God does not speak directly to people or prophets anymore. Because Christ came and told us what God wanted us to know. Not everything. But just what he wanted us to know. People think there might be a judgement day, where they rate a "c" on the scorecard of being a good person in front of God, so they are spared any punishment. But its not like that. Your either presently for God 100% or against him. And if your against him then you are judged right now to be guilty, yes condemned today, not on "judgement day". Judgement day is when your sent to eternal punishment. Its not when your judged. You are judged and condemned right now if your against God. The Bible doesnt speak of 1 person not going to hell on judgement day by talking their way out or claiming to be a good person.

  13. Dear 5:18 - Jesus said to Peter: "Get behind me Satan". Since Jesus had faced Satan in the desert for 40 days, and since Satan used to live in heaven with God and Jesus - I think that Jesus knew who Satan was. Peter denied he even knew Christ. Three times. And the phrase "upon this rock I build my church" is actually describing the rock structure Jesus was sitting on when he said it. it was the rock structure the "tower of babble" was build on earlier. The location of the earliest Pagan religion. It meant that he has conquered the evil one and his false religion and his church would be reformed pagans, defecting to Christianity. i suggest you investigate your ideas of the Catholic church in more depth (something the church discourages). Mary was a Jew. She died a Jew. The Roman Catholic Church didnt even exist until 313a.d. when emperor Constantine combines all pagan religions into christianity in a effort to appease people and stay in power.

Pope was a title for all Roman Emperors. The Pope took it upon himself when the Roman empire desolved.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Protestant religion means you can only go to heaven on what Christ did. You cannot work your way to heaven. Pagan religions all believe you can work your way to heaven, how silly. Good deeds? Really? Ha!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Are you sure you want to go the silly route when discussing any religion?

  16. 7:42 most of the following is opinionated from your reply. If there's time you could explain - not necessary though.

    1. .....the rock for the earliest pagan religion{s}
    2. .....it meant that he has conquered the evil one - who interpreted that for you? Sounds opinionated to me.
    3. .....investigate your ideas of the Catholic church in more depth. A simple reply is all I need is the Nicene Creed - It's a long waiting game imo.
    4. I'll investigate the emperor bit - that was long ago.
    5. ......Pope was a title for all roman emperors. I've never heard of that either - I check that out too.

So, what is reformation 1600"s? Chose not to follow Catholicism for one reason or another? Different white races maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  17. The Roman Emperor was the ruler of the Roman Empire were called 'pontifex maximus' aka "Pope". That is the Pope's title now!!!!!!!!! Yes, your Pope has the same title as Nero, Caesar and all the other Roman rulers who killed Jesus's disciples, regular Jews, and later Christians by throwing them to wild animals in the colosseum and dipping them alive in oil and using them for patio torches. He has the same title.

Mary was born Jewish and died Jewish. She was a Jew who did believe her son was the Messiah. However she was a Jew. The Roman Catholic Church didnt start till 313-330 a.d. so Mary was in her grave for centuries before the Roman Catholic church started. She was dust when the church started. The idea that Christ failed in his quest to give mankind salvation is a huge mistake and insult to God. The Roman Catholic church believes lighting candles, paying funds, indulgences, entering thru certain doorways at certain times in the Holy City can get you into heaven. Google indulgences and new york city. Indulgences are still offered there. Christ told the Jews in his day they cant work their way to heaven and Roman Catholics cant do it either - even today.

Peter really pissed off Christ because he asked if he would sit at the right hand of God in heaven. Peter was an imperfect human, no better than anyone else. Christ was at the exact location (a huge rock bluff) that the Tower of Babble had been built on, when he said upon this rock I will build this church. That didnt mean Peter. Peter was no rock. Peter was the only one that Christ called Satan -get behind me satan, and it was not a joke. Of course the Protestant reformation was a rejection of working you way to heaven by buying indulgences which made local priests the wealthest person in any town. Priests had so much wealth and their kids were inheriting it, that the church decided priests could NOT marry, could Not have kids and had to give their wealth back to the church. Did you know about that edict? Thats why priests could not marry - so they could not pass on their wealth from indulgences. Read Martin Luther's list of beefs that started the reformation...

  18. Its all about the money, honey.

The Pavia Synod held in 1018 where clerics were forbidden to leave church property to their families. In addition, Pope Nicholas II ordered that those married priests who did not repudiate their wives should be excommunicated.

Although the mandate of Nicholas II is no longer maintained, the concern over the issue of inheritance remains a reason for the Catholic Church to keep its clergy celibate. During the Middle Ages, the church accumulated a wealth of wealth, especially lands, which it still fears losing at the hands of the heirs of its clerics.

  19. Been watching this. Please let me add my thoughts. Only the Pope, Mary, Mother Theresa, saints and cannonized others go directly to heaven when they die due to their abundance of good works. But they had more than enough "credits to make it to heaven" - so their "excess credits" go into Catholic Church "slush fund". Ordinary people go to Purgatory when they die (not enough credits for heaven). But their relatives can buy "Mother Theresa's" excess credits when they purchase indulgences or do certain works, have masses said for their dead. Then bingo their deceased loved ones have gained enough credit to go straight to heaven. But if you have no relatives to get you those excess credits, you stay in purgatory. Also EACH altar must have a "relic" under it - a part of a bone, wood from the cross, blood from Christ etc buried deep below it. If not - then the priest will be unable to forgive sins and turn the sacraments into the body & blood of Christ. They would remain common bread and juice which is powerless. So church athenticated relics MUST be under each alter.

  20. According to church teaching, even after sinners are absolved in the confessional and say their Our Fathers or Hail Marys as penance, they still face punishment after death, in Purgatory, before they can enter heaven. In exchange for certain prayers, devotions or pilgrimages in special years, a Catholic can receive an indulgence, which reduces or erases that punishment instantly, with no formal ceremony or sacrament.

There are partial indulgences, which reduce purgatorial time by a certain number of days or years, and plenary indulgences, which eliminate all of it, until another sin is committed. You can get one for yourself, or for someone who is dead. You cannot buy one the church outlawed the sale of indulgences in 1567, but charitable monetary contributions, combined with other acts, can help you earn one. There is a limit of one plenary indulgence per sinner per day. Re-Authorized by the Pope in 2000.

  21. Where did the magic term Hocus Pocus come from?

According to the Oxford English Dictionary the term originates from hax pax max Deus adimax, a pseudo-Latin phrase used as a magical formula by conjurors.[4]

Some believe it originates from a corruption or parody of the Catholic liturgy of the Eucharist, which contains the phrase “Hoc est enim corpus meum”, meaning This is my body.[5] This explanation goes back to speculations by the Anglican prelate John Tillotson, who wrote in 1694:
In all probability those common juggling words of hocus pocus are nothing else but a corruption of hoc est corpus, by way of ridiculous imitation of the priests of the Church of Rome in their trick of Transubstantiation.[6]

  23. Catholics are a very very modified distant spin off of the true Christian church. They do not believe basic Christian doctrine. They have added man made traditions. Those have replace biblical Christian truth. So in response, the Holy Roman church came up with new bible additions the Mac. Remember, the Romans killed Christ, at the urging of the others.

  24. I college I read that Christians being burned at the steak by Catholics during the reformation time period would call on the name of Jesus as they were roasting alive. You would have thought the Catholics would impressed by their faith and stop the fire at that point. But Catholics worship the Pope and not Jesus. Jesus is a nobody to Catholics. The pecking order: Mary is #1, Saints #2, Pope #3, local priest #4. Jesus is no place to be found except as a figure on a tiny cross that a huge Mary is carrying (its a statute/graven image/idol. Mary is always huge and Christ tiny, showing her superiority. In truth, if Mary knew people prayed to her she would be sickened and mortified. Nobody takes the place of God- nobody!

  25. Catholics burned protestants. But Protestants mostly burned libraries, not people. The only person known to have burned at the stake by Protestants:

Friar John Forest was burnt at the stake during the reign of Henry VIII. He's the only burning recorded.

"The path of Catholicism is actually a tunnel to divine judgement".

I would suggest you learn more about the differences between the Christian Protestant Church and the Roman Catholic Church. Every year the difference between the two gets much larger. It appears the Catholic Church is changing the most and going in a direction that traditions can be changed to meet modern times. There is a good speaker with many informative topics on the catholic church and christian church. He does criticize Christian churches too. Might I suggest you watch this specific presentation on youtube:

John MacArthur - Are Catholics Saved?

Hey Dude, since the Catholic church is ruled infallable since 550ad, and the Pope has been ruled infalliable, and all Catholic Clergy ruled infallable - then killing those christians wasnt a mistake. They meant it, and still think it was the right thing to do - as the catholic church is not capable of making mistakes (as you claimed). And we do know for sure who did the killing - and each name of the victims burned at the stake. Their occupation, city of residence and their date of execution. There are also drawings of the execution scenes done by catholic artists (who are infallable). The Catholics kept close records-as their executions would give them credits to get out of purgatory. And now its all in the "foxe's book of martyrs" all the names and gory details. Maybe some of your ancestors were roasted alive before your family decided it would be in their best interest to convert to catholic church?

  28. The Catholic Church is losing members fast, they leave due to child rapes, the grubbing for money, the poor treatment of nuns who have no pensions like Priests, the stupid use of smoke at funerals, the chanting bullshit and all that other pomp and circumstance and use of gold items and trim. Not to mention a whole city, vatican city, which is guarded by men armed with beretta sub machine guns, and its stuffed full or rare art NOT related to the church at all, and jewels and diamonds and gold bars completely unrelated to the church and never seen by any church members. Yes, its a Jeffery Epstein type private club for gay men and its off limits to any law enforcement. its a shame vatican city wasnt bombed out of existance during WWII.

  29. The Romans killed Jesus. For no reason other than hatred for God. Then started a new religion. The Roman Catholic (not Christian) church. Then the holy priests rape boys and girls. This is not playing out well
