Kansas City Coronavirus Update: Numbers Quickly Add Up At Start Of Reopen



A quick look at where we stand now as the REOPEN picks up momentum along with recent infections and death.

Checkit:

KCMO Health Department: As of May, 15 KCMO has recorded 843 positive COVID-19 cases and 18 deaths.

KMBC: The Kansas Department of Health and Environment reported an increase of 418 confirmed cases of COVID-19 from Thurday and Friday, pushing the statewide total to 7,886 since the outbreak started.

KCTV5: According to the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services, there are now 10,456 COVID-19 cases in the state and 576 deaths.

Week 20: May 13 – 19, 2018 Missouri

A season-to-date total of 133,957 laboratory-positive influenza cases (85,379 influenza A, 46,677 influenza B, and 1,901 untyped) have been reported in Missouri as of Week 20.

During Week 19, 47 deaths involving Pneumonia and Influenza (P&I) were reported to the Bureau of Vital Records, resulting in a season-to-date total of 2,081 P&I associated deaths in Missouri.

We went up 8 whole cases since yesterday, OMG! The hospitals are over loaded and flowing out into the streets, oh the humanity!

Every new positive is one step closer to herd immunity. The only number that matters is hospital capacity. That's the ONLY reason we locked down and come to find out, it was a waste of time. Freedom comes at a price. It's about time the rest of us start paying it.
