Fox4: KC mayor waits for funding response from Jackson County, saying lives depend on it
Money line:
“It’s important to get money on streets to help pay for our COVID response,” Lucas said, “and certainly to make sure our city council, our city has the confidence to know that, as we’re funding more testing, as we’re funding more contact tracers, as we’re trying to actually make sure we’re funding more small business relief in Kansas City, that we have an avenue by which we’ll be able to do it.”
Developing . . .
So how much do the developers get?
ReplyDeleteGood. Now we can have Open Spaces again this summer.
ReplyDeleteROTFL!!
DeleteWhen do people get their property tax refunds back.
ReplyDeleteMayor Lucas just passed Gov Mike Parson in political clout
ReplyDeleteMore bicycle lanes !!!!
ReplyDeleteI’m guessing Kathryn shields is doing the developer giveaway dance right about now plus, she’s talking about a massive layoff of employees so that should make her developer buddies very very happy.
ReplyDeleteThere isn't a penny of that 50 mil going to Covid response.
ReplyDeleteYet, the streets and sewers and trash service and water service will still be as shitty before the 50,000,000 free fed cash. The money will disappear into thin air... a lot like the Green Impact Zone of yesterday.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately @5:16pm is exactly right.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter whether the money stays with the JaCo crowd or some of it gets transferred to KCMO.
It will all be thrown away with the usual suspects and lots of it will be secretly used to desperately fill the holes in the general funds.
The cupboards are bare.
And the many many bondholders still want their money.
The turkeys are coming home to roost.
UPDATE . . . No agreement yet.
ReplyDeleteMore of a waiting game. Updated link AND new post up top.
I hope they earmark plenty for an arts fair at Swope Park and midnight pizza and basketball for “teens.”
