FAMILY AFFAIR: KANSAS CITY ETHICS RULES DON'T APPLY TO KCFD!!!

Just a bit of snide public radio whispering but, still, a statement of fact and something that is often lamented by workers who don't have a (family) connection . . . "The fire department, whose employees include numerous relatives, had pressed for the changes."

The Kansas City Council on Thursday voted to exempt the fire department from some anti-nepotism provisions of the city's Ethics Code. With no discussion, the council voted 11-1 to pass the ordinance, which generally still bars a family member from directly supervising another family member. Rather, it requires another layer of management in between.

the only way to get in on the Firefighter scam is to have a relative already raking in the big $$ overtime pay --for sleeping..

No indication ethics is a function of either the KC MO fire department or police department. Both treat KC MO as a cash cow. Sad neither the mayor nor the city council have options to address the ceaseless corruption in both the fire department and the police department.
