Kansas City Council Relaxes Nepotism Rules For Fire Department

The Kansas City Council on Thursday voted to exempt the fire department from some anti-nepotism provisions of the city's Ethics Code. With no discussion, the council voted 11-1 to pass the ordinance, which generally still bars a family member from directly supervising another family member. Rather, it requires another layer of management in between.

  3. No indication ethics is a function of either the KC MO fire department or police department. Both treat KC MO as a cash cow. Sad neither the mayor nor the city council have options to address the ceaseless corruption in both the fire department and the police department.
