Bike Walk KC Excited About Plans To Continue Ruining Armour Boulevard

Here's the latest update in AN ONGOING DISPUTE wherein residents and drivers have continually warned of the dangerous and obstructive "improvements" despite cyclist advocacy.

Checkit:

Complete Streets Project coming to Gillham Plaza

Since the adoption of the Complete Streets ordinance in 2017, the City of KCMO has been working to find opportunities to improve the built environment for all road users. The most recent effort on this front is the soon-to-be-complete improvements along portions of Gillham Plaza between Armour Boulevard and 31st Street.

Comments

  1. KCMO officials are completely out of control, listening to special interest groups and ignoring the majority of citizens, this will complicate yet another midtown street!!!

  2. Well just wait until they start the new mixed use apartments at Armour and Troost with limited parking not enough to accommodate the amount of apartments and business. That's going to make that area extremely dangerous. More that it is with those bike lanes now. You can't see to pull out of those side streets without getting in the middle of the street and by then it's to late if a car is coming. It's really funny how stupid these people are. Keep going idiots.

  5. Require bikes on public streets to pay licensing fees just like cars that use them and then use the bike license revenue to build the bike lanes.

    1. Hahaha as if car licenses pay for the astronomical costs and poisons of streets and highways. You are actually nuts.

  6. How about bike lanes on Prospect? That area needs some taxpayer money spent on it. I’m sure residents in that area would appreciate it.

  7. Ah, fuck. This is a great road as is and will now be screwed up for bike Nazi’s. I hope someone plows through these tax dollar sucking, law-breaking bikers to teach them a lesson.

  8. I thought the feds gave the city millions of dollars for these bike lanes years ago which the city promptly spent on other things, and now the city is now being threatened by the feds to either complete the bike lane project or pay the money back. Can you guess who’s getting screwed again by city halls rampant ignorance and stupidity?
