Visit KC Hopes In Vain For Tourism Comeback Despite Coronavirus Lockdown

After announcing MASSIVE LAYOFFS during lockdown . . . Here's a bit of hope/hype that probably isn't going to happen . . . Take a look:

VisitKC looks to salvage Kansas City's convention biz soon, if it can

Late-spring and early-summer is prime conference season in Kansas City, says Visit KC. There have been about 71 cancellations in the past two months.

  1. Now the Mayor is the one that wants to keep the city under lockdown. No one is going to be able to attend large conventions and no industry, no business is going to be able afford the expense of these junkets.

  2. KCMO betting on the convention business was a loser way before the COVID 19 lock-down.
Hotels in the city have been sucking air for years and now there are even more of them. almost all subsidized by the taxpayers.
So just add all the bond payments to the list of diversions that come out of the city's general fund, factor in the massive lost revenue due to the virus, and do the math.
Ho much is left for basic services that residents actually depend on?
    Good luck!

  3. ^^I don't know Maude, did you call the city instead of crying on here? Why not?
