TKC QUESTION: SHOULD MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS EXTEND KANSAS CITY COVID-19 SHUT DOWN ORDER?!?! HOW LONG???

An interview today on KMBZ puts a possible THREE WEEK extension under consideration.

The initial 30-day order in Kansas City will expire April 24.

Insiders tell us that anything longer than May 4th and we'll start to seeing a dramatic uptick in PERMANENT biz closures if the level of federal assistance doesn't ramp up. While any reopening will certainly increase the coronavirus life-threatening infection rate.

And so put the question out there . . .

WHEN AND HOW SHOULD KANSAS CITY REOPEN?!?!

NYC has suffered a devastating coronavirus toll and they're now talking about the deets of a reopen.

WHO officials are sharing their concerns.

Prez Trump is announcing reopen plans in opposition to many U.S. governors.

We expect that KCMO will follow guidance from health officials nationally and locally but community input should also be part of the consideration.

You decide . . .

  4. Talking to health officials is the best plan and I'm glad Mayor Lucas is taking the advice of doctors seriously. President Trump is listening to wall street and they just don't care about people's lives.

My suggestion is, whatever Trump does, do the opposite. That's always the safest bet.

Think about how you're living right now that x 50 in the worse direction. You democrats are so flipping stupid. Hate Trump get the f**k out of our country! Go take your destruction somewhere else. 2. that's total bunk 1:48.

The fed is buying up all of the corporate junk bonds and municipal bonds at Trump's direction.

      That's socialism 101.

What you're talking about is just propaganda and faux news.

Corporate America is already enjoying socialism thanks to your daddy Trump and your too dumb to know it.

    3. That is not socialism, 101 or any other number. It may not be a good idea, but it is not a socialism level bad idea.

    4. Let's not forget Trump bragged about making an agreement with OPEC and Russia to cut US oil production.

Trump is the first president in America history to actually negotiate for higher gas prices on American consumers!

He promised the Saudis and Russia that US companies will produce less, shut down wells, and layoff American oil and gas workers. All so Putin and the Saudi King can charge us more.

Un-fucking-believeable. Forget waiting until November. Pence should invoke the 25th to get this traitor out of office now.

    5. Don’t cash the 1200.00 socialism check. You send that right back to the federal government and tell them you won’t play into their stimulus malarkey!

and the minions then spread their god's disease after the

  7. We should close Kansas City down for ten years to ensure not one case of corona virus is ever recorded again.

AND raise everyone's property taxes to fund Frank White's bloated salary and benefits.

  8. Hey 1:47, did you go to Easter service? Thrump recommended we do this... You appear to be a very trusting guy who believes Hannity and Laura. Misery needs to have someone to blame their failures on.

  9. 1:53 - Weird Guy - In 2009, Barrack Obama set the precedent for the Federal Reserve buying corporate and municipal bonds and funneling $ trillions into Wall Street.

You might want to learn a little bit of history before running off the mouth with weird accusations against President Trump.

Take an anti- malaria pill with your prozac and everything will be alright.

"Unfolding as it did in the wake of his impeachment by the House and in the midst of his Senate trial, Mr. Trump's response was colored by his suspicion of and disdain for what he viewed as the 'Deep State' — the very people in his government whose expertise and long experience might have guided him more quickly toward steps that would slow the virus, and likely save lives." - NY Times

  23. Hard to call. On one hand we 'shut down' at the same time, maybe a little before can't remember, as the east coast. That makes me think spread although happening here hasn't happened in earnest yet. So we open back up and it likely will. On the other hand we're at least a year to a year and a half from a vaccine, right? That's assuming a vaccine is even possible for this virus. So do we stay shut down indefinetly?
I really think the only way to fully stop the spread of this virus is a 1-2 month shut down of EVERYTHING. Stock up on food and stay in your house. We're only half ass doing that now. How many deaths would be caused by that though? So, maybe have the leave exceptions for Covid stay active until we have this under control. That way people get sick, stay at home or hospital, and continue to receive income to support them.
Having said that though the economic implications of any of these approaches are going to be massive. I don't envy anyone making these decisions. From the president all the way down to mayors and city council members. It's a bad situation with no solid answers, just assumptions.
