TKC MUST SEE!!! KC TENANTS LEAD VIRTUAL RALLY DEMANDING MISSOURI GUV PARSON SUSPEND RENT DURING CORONAVIRUS CRISIS!!!

The latest protest in an ongoing local renters-rights movement increases pressure on one of the top ranking Republicans in Missouri in hopes of garnering housing assistance amid the current pandemic crisis.

Description from protesters:

"Over 200 Missouri tenants, people experiencing homelessness, and allies held a virtual rally to build and express solidarity across the state, and to demand that Governor Mike Parson take action to #ProtectMOTenants by passing a rent/mortgage suspension (#CancelRent #RentZero)."

As public gatherings are limited, this online demonstration was creative but might not move the dial. Critics question the impact of the "rent zero" movement on smaller housing providers and businesses that don't have corporate deep pockets. As data suggests that nearly 1/3rd of Americans didn't pay rent this month the economic hardship on BOTH sides of this equation is quickly reaching a crisis point.

Aftermath . . .

KSHB: How a rent freeze would impact tenants, landlords

Fox4KC: Renters across Missouri ask Gov. Parson to freeze rent, mortgage payments and more help

KY3: Virtual protest held to demand that Gov. Parson suspend rent, mortgage payments

  1. That's a tough sell for a Republican Governor. I know California is basically doing this but Missouri is a different story altogether. In many ways.

    2. Yes. Meaning that he's not going to piss of his base of GOP voters.

    3. So Gov. Parson is going to do nothing and just let his base be evicted by his corrupt bankster & slumlord BFFs?

  2. I don't have a job and I paid my rent the first. In fact paid it with my own money. Sure had to pull it from savings as I will probably will have to do May 1st

  3. So do I have to pay the mortgage on the house I am renting to the deadbeat?

  4. The landlord isn't a charity. The landlord expects rent. The landlord is expected to pay the mortgage payment to the bank from the rent payment. This isn't rocket science.

    1. Or, look at it this way, your tenant can't pay rent because they lost their job. You kick them out. You think you're getting another tenant in this economy. good luck. Or, you can cut the tenant a break and hopefully, they're back on their feet sooner rather than later and you can work something out to recoup your missed months. I can see the argument from both sides but just booting the tenant out is probably a pretty short sighted solution. And let's be honest, I know people who own properties. If you're renting to folks who are probably being impacted by this economy like service workers, etc. If you don't own that property out right, there's something wrong with your money management skills.

    2. Actually I just rented one of my places and they had first and last months rent along with deposit and pet deposit x2. So not everyone is a deadbeat and wasted their money.

    3. Well that settles it then. You heard it here first. ^ This guy just got a tenant who gave him first and last months rent. All is good. Carry on. No one needs any assistance at all and jobs are being retained and growth is happening. ^ This guy is proof.

This City will not recover for a long time. Let Your Governor know if our numbers are down in the State. Don't follow the National NUMBER or Missouri or Kansas will never Recover .

  7. Yes, you should not pay any bills. Make the whole world stop and go broke because people chose never to save. And while people will type responses of how hard every one works and tries. First think of whether you are willing to go without someone paying you monies owed. THen ask yourself if they also go without booze, cars, drugs, cell phones, movie rentals and other play activities. Toss in are they willing to go without all the play items to pay back this rent , after covid ? Willing to eat bologna and bread until they pay this back ? or will they be headed to Applebees the first Friday night and to get a PED?..I know they are all hard workers that don't waste money on stupid shit.

  8. NO property taxes, NO sales taxes.

  9. How does this work constitutionally...can the gov just step in and relieve all private debts?

I have a suggestion, if you can't pay your rent and you want free rent let's have the government set up camps where they can all concentrate in one place and work can be assigned to them, once they work enough to pay their bills they can be set free.

    2. That's why socialist democracy used to work well in the scandanavian countries, it only works in homogeneous societies, can't ignore millennia of human nature no matter how much (((sjw))) indoctrination the left thrusts on us.

The fact is that the whites males as a whole pay more into taxes than they take, poc not so much - they are a drain on taxes.

  11. You GOP faggots do realize that property management and landlords will get FORGIVABLE loans too for tenants who are broke, right? $1200 ain't shit for peasants. #NoRent

    1. Yup, I think landlords can count on that happening. You are a retard. If that was published law, fine, but no one has said anything about making landlords whole when the deadbeats start skipping out on rent. No way taxpayers should have to foot the bill either.

  12. #1- Faggots would be the other party ( you did know that ) and #2- Obviously you don't own anything ,as it doesn't work like your Crack pipe dream statement. Losers always know more than other, they also have the largest excuses. Mostly for never achieving on their own.

  13. what was the proportion of renters to "Allies"?

  14. I'm trusting Governor Parson to do the right thing and help his constituents instead of corporations.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Best help Parson can be to his constituents is to advise them to pay their bills. Not sure what corporations you refer to? Helping corporations helps employees of those corporations, who, believe it or not, are not all CEOs.

  15. The news talks about all the places hiring everyday. Walmart, Amazon for instance. Instead of waiting for government, pick your ass up get a temporary job until yours comes back. If you don't have saving that's your next option. Personal responsilbility learn it live it! Instead people want to make their problem their lanlord's. That's why they're renters not owners in the first place.

    1. Do you know a. how much those who have lost their job are making? b. how much they will make at Wal-Mart or Amazon and c. how much their unemployment benefits are?

It's simple math. If it makes more sense for someone to utilize unemployment, that's what they're going to to do. And fuck off with your boot strap talk. If I've been gainfully employed and paid well above these jobs you speak of and my former employer and myself have paid into unemployment....fuck yeah, I'm going to utilize it.

      Delete
    2. Well then collect your unemployment, and pay your fucking rent! Don't give a fuck about your personal accounting. Quit asking the government for everything.

      Delete
  16. I think the governor already knows that these people won't pay rents anyway.

  17. Rent is a legal agreement. Only death can get you out of it according to law.

    ReplyDelete
  18. In the old days the landlord would give you a paint brush and paint and say o.k. then work the free rent off.

It's the old fable of the grasshopper and ant.

When younger, we old folks worked multiple jobs at once to make ends meet; it can be done; just takes a willingness to park the cell phone and Face Book, get off your ass and work. Move in with your parents if they have a spare bedroom; one can make ends meet if they work at it.

But no, lets sit on our ass and complain that someone owes us a handout because we spent all our money going out to eat, cell phones, cable t.v., trips to Vegas, cruises, getting our nails done etc. instead of saving our money for emergencies.
