TKC MUST SEE!!! KANSAS CITY ANCHORMAN MARK ALFORD CHAMPIONS TIPPING 30% AFTER CORONAVIRUS LOCKDOWN CONCLUDES!!!

A prominent local journalists recently authored a bold statement and groundbreaking idea which has inspired both adamant support and contentious debate . . .

Mark Alford: "I’m starting an initiative for when this dreadful #lockdown is finally over and we’re allowed back out to eat... It’s called the #tip30 initiative. #tip30 percent of your bill for the first six months of freedom so local servers can get back on their feet!!!!"

For the most part people seem to be supporting the generous effort.

However . . .

We notice many skeptical locals complaining that the promotion basically makes anybody who consistently tips 21 or 22 percent look like a cheapskate.

And, of course, this brings to mind the greatest movie scene on tipping every documented as Mr. Pink explains his tipping philosophy:

You decide . . .

  1. It's a nice thought but this kind of peer pressure could keep people from eating out at all if it's going to cost an arm & a leg.

  2. Most people won't be able to afford ANY kind of prepared meal after this.

The vast majority of people still watching broadcast TV will hope that they don't get buy having to eat dog good.

This just shows Alford is out of touch.

When they open the country back up, you will really see the pandemic take off. In hindsight, you will see that your numbers were low because of social distancing.

Armed vigilantes will pressure local governments to end social distancing goaded by Der Fuhrer who will accept no responsibility for the violence, or the resurgence of the pandemic.

Once again, Der Fuhrer has committed treason.

    1. because social distancing is such a difficult concept, what would we have done if the government had not told us. I have always liked to stay free of illness in flu season by opening public doors then sticking my fingers in my eyes, letting a bunch of people sneeze on me, and spending time in a small closet with people's petri dish children.

    2. Shut Byron, you socialist scum. All you know are government handouts. Have you ever worked a day in your life, you dim bulb?

    3. Byron Funkhouser is walking talking proof of the mental health conditions in this country. He so belongs in the cuckoo nest he was kicked out of the armed forces due to his mental conditions. You can't believe anything he says as they are manifestations of what he thinks were said. Byron has a type of Bipolar Disorder. BD is a mood disorder and can result in delusional thoughts and all of the other symptoms we have seen him display. The being blind part for instance is to cover for his wacky ways that gets him a free check every month thanks to all us hard working people. OCD can also be part of this BD picture. People with BD also tend to self-medicate with dangerous drugs, just like meth which maybe he does or does not but we do know he has admitted to smoking weed. His delusions can be so very fixed that it seems to create or lead to a form of memory, even though the memory is false. His memory of something terrible that was supposed to happen in childhood from dear old Dad and about Brother Mark and his family is not a memory at all but truly is a delusion or false belief. In all likelihood, if such an events had happened in his life many people would have remembered it as such and talk about it. Byron has no friends as most anyone can attest to and why he lives in hiding for fear the real truth would come out. Why Mark never speaks of him because Mark knows the truth and is man enough to not speak ill of those with severe mental conditions. People such suffer from mental illness as Byron does will most always hate with great passion those who have done better than them or have power and authority over them. Why he so hates guns as it's illegal for him to own one so he fears you having one where he can't. Why he so wants a socialist state in society as he thinks that will make him equal to you and I which us who know better can see why that will never happen. Yes Byron will flip out when he sees the truth here and as typical of those who suffer from what he does the truth is a lie and their lies are the truth.

    5. @1:15's lengthy diatribe about mental conditions is ironic, since he rambles on so much about delusions while asserting things he could not possibly know about,

  8. How about after this all settles down we encourage restaurant owners to pay their own employees like the rest of the goddamned developed world?

The servers-as-beggars racket has gone on far too long.

    1. Amen brother. I've never understood how they get away with paying them less than minimum wage because other people will give them money, maybe. Good for you for cutting to the root of the problem.

  10. Prior to the Rona, we were regulars at many restaurants. We're now trying to support the local restaurants by doing the takeout thing these last few weeks. I totally get & understand their situation, but presently the quality of the finished product is borderline unacceptable. I'm not talking Capital Grill type quality, I'm talking local name brand places we all know for pizza take out, Chinese takeout, burger & fries takeout & taco takeout. Places that already do takeout on a regular basis which should be business as ususal. I have yet to not regret my choice of take out. Point blank, if the restaurants want our support, they better get some semblance of their shit together, because right now the quality of they product flat-ass sucks.

  11. I have been fortunate for quite a few years now and I spent a lot of years prior in the food business. I tip 30 on a normal lunch as the least honestly. If it is a big dinner say $500 - 1000 I think 150-250 and more is appropriate. If you have a nice dinner with your wife with a good server and the bill is 200... if you can.. tip 100 at least. The same effort goes into a 4 top vs. 2 top. Again.. I expect the rip back. I can afford it now but remember having to call the gas or electric every month to extend my pay date. Calling the car financier for grace.. sometimes unsuccessfully. I have been to the non tip cities.. they still want it and I definitely know KC servers expect it.

    1. I once was a hobo, but now I'm a multi-millionaire. I used to eat out of the dumpster, but now I eat inside the finest restaurants. I like to go up to strangers and pull a "Secret Santa" and hand them a few $100 bills and then walk away.
If it's a big dinner say $5000-10,000 I think it's appropriate to give the servers a new car. If you have a nice dinner with your wife and the bill is $1000...if you can...pay off your server's mortgage. I hope this hasn't made me seem to be out-of-touch or elitist or a liar. Well, my driver just called and he's bringing the Rolls around to the front of the mansion, so I have to leave you now.

  12. Actually, that's a great idea. If you can afford to eat out in the first place, it's not going to bankrupt you to pay a little extra.

  13. I eat out frequently and always tip at least 20%. But, I agree if the new normal is that isn't enough I will double my growing interest in cooking at home.

  14. Byron only eats government cheese. And he doesn’t tip.

    ReplyDelete
  15. There hassn't bee government cheese in 40 years. But we are seeing food lines 20 blocks long in some cities so give it another two weeks and food lines will be the new normal. Society has been reorganized, there is no code of codes anymore.

  16. This is fine...if you want to take advice from a pampered faux-journalist, highly-paid to read the propaganda news of the day, a Napoleon-syndrome narcissist who plans to run for office when they finally kick him off the air.

FOX4 sucks! Trying to answer the question, "How many self-promotional commercials can you air before the audience openly despises you?"

My current favorite is the FOX4 Donates Musical Instruments To The Poor Black Kids! Do you ever notice that the people of color are always portrayed as victims? How about hiring a qualified person of color?
FOX4 Mornings: Abby Eden, Mark Alford, Karli Ritter
FOX4 Evenings: Loren Halifax, Pat McGonigle, Joe Lauria
    The Caucasian News Network?
