TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! VISITKC PAID RONNIE BURT HALF A MILLION BUCKS AMID LAWSUIT & RESIGNATION DRAMA!!!

Right now VisitKC is DESPERATELY FIGHTING FOR AN INFLUX OF KANSAS CITY TAXPAYER CASH following budget cuts as the local focus on tourism seems silly considering the current coronavirus pandemic.

To put the drama in perspective we share some EXCLUSIVE and well documented deets available to all of the folks who want to enjoy a "shelter in place" pastime look through non-profit 990s.

First, a bit of background on Mr. Burt's adventures during his time in Kansas City . . .

Fox4: Named in harassment lawsuit, CEO of VisitKC resigns, saying it’s the ‘best time to move on’

KCMO: Visit KC announces resignation of President & CEO Ronnie Burt

KCTV5: A lawsuit, brought forth by former Visit KC human resources manager Janette Barron, was dismissed Jan. 7 after attorneys for both sides reached a $250,000 settlement agreement. As in most cases like this, neither Visit KC nor Burt admitted wrongdoing.

The fun part confirmed by way of recently released 990 documentation . . .

VISIT KC PAID RONNIE BURT MORE THAN HALF A MILLION BUCKS AS HE HIT THE ROAD AMID #METOO DRAMA!!!

His base salary was listed at a GENEROUS $267,500 but other reportable compensation was documented at $236,247.

In the year before that 990s show us that he earned more than $100K worth of bonuses but this EPIC payout seems to draw attention and offers KC Insiders an important talking point when debating the future of VisitKC cash.

  2. Disband or at least get the salaries down to an acceptable level based on the actual work they really do.

  3. He will probably follow the path of failed school superintendents who seem to always find another district to screw.

  4. Just another payout on our way to becoming Detroit. It looks like Kansas City is headed to bankruptcy faster than any other town in the country. Even if we do get some of that stimulus money.

  6. Don't forget "PortKC".
A slush fund financed from casino revenues that could actually be going into the KCMO general fund.
Not that they would spend it any more wisely, but at least the taxpayers wouldn't have to put up with yet ANOTHER obscure "quasi-public" group of overpaid clowns playing at eco devo.
If smiley selfies Lucas wants to really "modernize" KCMO government, a good place to start would be working ith the Missouri Legislature to disband all these money sucking jokes.

He's standing right in front of you!
