TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY CORONAVIRUS LOCKDOWN SUICIDE JUMPER NEAR THE PLAZA UNREPORTED!!!

So, over the weekend some poor soul jumped off a building near the Plaza as local media and authorities conspired to keep it quiet.

Reports of the tragic scene were all over the local Nextdoor & Ring apps and more than a few locals sent word our way via e-mail.

While it's correct that most suicides are unreported by local media . . . The local chatter is simply to loud to ignore. Moreover, during this crisis we've mostly been blogging the local news in a straight forward manner but the way this story was suppressed irks TKC and once again makes the ALTERNATIVE JOURNALISTIC MISSION OF THIS KICK-ASS BLOG COMMUNITY even more important.

Accordingly . . .

WORD OF SOMEBODY TAKING A HEADER OFF A BUILDING NEAR THE PLAZA IS NOTEWORTHY GIVEN THAT MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES DURING CORONAVIRUS LOCKDOWN ARE A MAJOR CONCERN!!!

We've noticed that many of the cheeseballs who read this blog have been getting a bit "weird" over the past few days and there is simply no denying increasing pressure confronting most Americans right now. Here at TKC we hope talking about this issue will help destigmatize any conversation about mental health issues and how desperation impacts so many locals who are out of work and suffering from radical social distancing.

Fact is, we don't want to delve into any personal deets of the victim in this tragic circumstance BUT the widely discussed building dive deserves at least a mention if only because it represents LOCAL REAL LIFE as this cowtown confronts the coronavirus pandemic.

  1. Sad situation. Trump talked about this but the media downplayed it. It was historic that any president mentioned suicide on the national stage. Not a fan but it was important that it was at least mentioned.

    2. There are a lot of shootings, suicides and other violence that never get reported in KC. What might be more useful to readers is to warn them about the increased property crime that's only getting worse. The trend is at least two years running and only gets a brief mention.

Yup. Trump: All talk and no action. Thus,10k+ dead Americans in just one month. More dead to come due to his inability to lead. Incompetent fool, surrounded by idiots, supported by deplorables. Pathetic underachievers.

  5. I've followed this blog and comments for years and can say for certain the local geezers' mental health was very questionable long before the virus and soft lockdown.

  6. Thats too bad, they should ban jumping

I didn't know there were buildings tall enough to jump to your death off of down on the plaza

  8. And the "President" today threw a hissy fit at a "News Briefing" because he didn't like the way some reporters phrased their questions!

To one Reporter (a woman, naturally, he doesn't have guts enough to talk that way to a man) he said "you're a third-rate Reporter".

Quite a statement, coming from a fifth-rate "President"!

  9. The reason all the nets dropped trumpoopy's shit show is he has planted
shill reporters from OAN, a 'way out thar" network to ask him 'softball' questions.....these fucks are really there to make ol' corntassle look good.
(totally impossible).....check out OAN, they've all got spoons up the trump rump......and it's always dinner time!....no napkins required.

  10. You may not like him, I don't, but President Trump has been right about a lot of what he said about China.

  11. Fake news hides stuff like that, because REAL news doesnt fit their agenda. RIP for the human that jumped and prayers for the family, if I had to guess it was a health care worker that took their own life, but who knows - it could have been a KCMO firefighter who cheated on his wife and gave her AIDS..no one knows shit unless HONESTY is reported.

  13. The media controls the narrative and you by what it reports and what it omits from reporting. Think about while you watch or read the news...

  14. PS perhaps if the poor fellow had been able get some good news...that this is not the end of life as we know it, that deaths n infections are only a fraction of what the media claimed they'd be, that all the local surges and spikes were just sensationalism and click bait, that there is an effective treatment, that we should be returning to work soon, the guy might have had some hope left.

  15. Any updates on Boris?

  16. And yet deaths continue unabated daily with no slowing and nobody is going back to work until mid-May at the earliest. Weird.

  18. Wonder how everyone feels about China dumping American company investments prior to and then buying them all back as penny stocks. Keep loving that China. Put on the red star and praise them over your sideline calls on issues.

  19. Yes, Trump makes you catch Corona. It was all slavery that made 70% of COVID 19 victims black. I watch CNN as well.

  23. Posters seem to assume that the suicide was caused in whole or in part by the virus, or the shelter at home orders to combat its spread. But there is no evidence to back up that assumption. The two could be totally separate and unrelated.

    1. It was not caused by the virus or the shelter at home orders. The person had a complicated history. Enough said.

  24. MDSF you taking any bets that once this manufactured crisis has come to an end we see NO INCREASE IN NET MORTALITY? Your orangemanbadvirus deaths go up, you get a corresponding drop in flu, heart disease, lung disease, obesity deaths. NO NET INCREASE. With the caveat that there are varying rates of monthly deaths anyway, but comparable with other similar years.
