The Department of Mental Health could receive nearly $6 million to assist mental illness treatment and suicide prevention associated with the pandemic. "A lot of people are going to be traumatized because of this pandemic," said Sen. Jamilah Nasheed, D-St. Louis.
The proposal also includes $3 million for the Missouri Gaming Commission, which lost its usual source of funding when the state’s 13 casinos closed to ward off the spread of COVID-19.
