SHOCK!!! KANSAS CITY MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS NAME CHECKED AMID MASSIVE PLAZA MARRIOTT CORONAVIRUS LAYOFF!!!

This horrific loss of jobs is laid at the Mayor's feet following his EPIC shut down extension.

To wit . . .

COUNTRY CLUB PLAZA MARRIOTT CALLS OUT KANSAS CITY MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS IN HORRIFIC LAYOFF NOTE!!!

Check the subtext that MSM can only hint:

Country Club Plaza Marriott notifies city of temporary mass layoff - 114 employees to be separated from company between April 30, May 5

Deets and a local biz move more important than social media protest chatter among idiots:

In the letter addressed to Kansas City, Missouri, Mayor Quinton Lucas, the hotel sites COVID-19 as the reason for the layoffs.

“As a result of the unforeseeable, dramatic downturn in business and occupancy caused by the coronavirus natural disaster, we are writing to inform you that there will be a mass layoff at the Marriott Kansas City Country Club Plaza located at 4445 Main Street in Kansas City, Missouri on Thursday, April 30, 2020,” the hotel said in the notice.

  1. Right along the streetcar line.

I guess they won't be getting too much "momentum" any time soon.

    Sad.

    1. Bravo and bravo. This is a wonderful reality check for the mayor. If he is going to shut down the city beyond neighboring states. There is a political consequence for it.

  2. The mayor is doing the right thing and the best he can in a bad situation.

Big business in Kansas City should follow his lead and not risk their employees.

    1. Absolutely. This is nothing but the blame game over again. The Mayor is not responsible for Trump's mishandling.

  4. Aren't they a multi million dollar business? Why should the taxpayers who mostly live paycheck to paycheck bail them out? Not. Our. Problem.

  5. Good. Mayor Lucas deserves to have shade thrown at him. He cannot justify shutting down certain businesses when Walmart, Hyvee, Quiktrip, Menards, Target, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. have all been allowed to have large groups of people congregate daily. It does not take a genius to realize his "shutdown" makes no sense. If Covid is that contiguous then these businesses need to either be shut down as well or mandated to do free curbside/delivery like every else. But I guess in his mind you can't catch it at Walmart? I know who I will NOT be voting for next time.

  6. Honeymoon is over for Mayor Q. He can't recover for this mess, not to mention the largely increasing homeless population and uncleanliness around town. Who will be the next mayor of KC?

  7. It is all about politics now. Democrats dragging the economy down instead creating procedures for opening businesses.

  8. This will take decades for Kansas City to recover.Ten years of growth. Gone in a few months .Or,gone in 60 seconds. Many unique business that will never reopen or return .The Hotel industry will be toast. Peoples travel attitudes will change. They will stay out of densely populated City's .afraid they will contact a virus.

  9. Remember the new airport that flyers were going to pay for? Bet Kansas City tax payers will buy most of that BS. Aren't minority mayors progressive? How many more will be elected before Kansas City is totally destroyed by their lack of leadership?

  10. Shock! Marriott made 1.2 billion dollars in profit last year including paying their CEO 12 million. They have enough cash reserves to keep the 10 dollar an hour employee on the payroll for awhile. They just want to maintain profits after a bailout.

Reduces mortality rates of other typical viruses leaving the net the same. Fvck. It was just a flu like virus. Period. And you cucks couldn't get enough of watching the Gov fuck your families so you could get off on it.

  13. All the trash talking over the Mayor of our city, looking out for our city? So what some of you are saying is that you would be behind him if he re-opened the city and our cases went through the roof and MANY more people got sick and possibly died. That would be ok? Remove you heads from the sand pit (or other places I can’t mention) and see that our Mayor is proactive in saving lives. Be grateful for that. Maybe try NOT being so miserable and be thankful. I feel sorry for you and I will pray for y’all..

  14. So long as the health care system is not overstrained, businesses should be allowed to reopen. Most people will continue to stay away for a while due to fear of the unknown. The point of the lockdown was to flatten the curve, not to continue it until the world is free of the Wuhan Flu.

We are at risk of going into a depression and the consequences of that are going to make this look like nothing.

People will continue to get sick and die with or without a lockdown, its just a natural process.

  15. The mayor is in line with politics not science and has lost my vote. First chance to actually lead is an epic fail.
