SHOCK!!! KANSAS CITY BOX STORE LINES BLASTED AMID CORONAVIRUS CONCERN!!!

Kansas City public radio offers a worker warning and possibly a reason to wear a mask and gloves just to be safe . . . Here's the crux of their argument:

"There have been a handful of workers in big box stores around the country who have tested positive for COVID-19. None, as far as we know, from the Kansas City area. But experts say big box stores present particular challenges in mitigating the spread of COVID-19 because, well, they’re so big."

“Some people might not consciously realize whether they’re standing six feet away from each other or not in a facility so big,” says Elaine Nsoesie, assistant professor of global health at Boston University.

More interestingly, we notice most of the quotes feature works largely satisfied with protections that companies have developed despite the scary headline . . . Checkit:

Shoppers Put Everyone At Risk When They Converge On Kansas City's Big Box Stores

"Experts are concerned about all of it: The proximity to others, multiple hands on products and the germs on our handheld devices."

You decide . . .

Only agree that it's worth taking the precaution while we ALL hope that then numbers flatten and the damage to our economy isn't long lasting.

I think some smaller shops are finally now getting some business because people don't want to deal with the lines. Hopefully, the public won't forget about them when this ends.

If sneezes and breathing travels further than six feet than all of this "concern" might not mean much. But the numbers would be higher all over the world if that was the case. Or at least that's some of the argument that other scientists are countering with.

Telling other people to back up is a bad way to interact with people. But I'm glad that seniors are getting their own shopping hours. That's something I would like to see continue after the shut down orders are lifted.

If that is the Costco on Linwood they haven't got a plan. The Costco in Independence had all doors blocked except one in and one out. they were only letting a certain number of people in at a time. Everything went smooth and fast, except for the lady who sneezed and din't bother to cover her face and some men who think the need to get on top of you and in your face. You know how men are. Pretty stupid at times.

I can only speak about where I have been. Costco in Overland Park has done a great job and I also notice people are paying attention to social distancing.

Costco has red lines on the floor indicating 6ft including at the registers. All workers are wearing gloves.

Price Chopper and Hen House are couple of good examples. To be objective I think the teens who work there haven't quite grasped it yet, but, I notice managers are telling them to keep their distance.

Yes, lines are inevitable, but we as a people need to do our job and keep our distance if you have to go out. Stay home if at all possible, we will get through it......

What you expect in a city where the model of common courtesy is Go Fuck Yourself!

Ditto at Costco in Lenexa. A very well managed effort to follow guidelines. Everyone was very respectful of others space. An unbelievable amount of public patience and courtesy. Filling a cart took 2.5 hours including wait to get in. But I didn't experience one shithead along the way. Kudos to everyone involved.

Wow some workers across the country...that's some hard hitting journalism. Yes be careful take precautions but don't live in fear.

What sealed the deal on 5his being mostly overblown and fake was watching dr oz on the news telling us to stay away from the ocean because some Corona virus could be in the water and everytime a wave breaches it like the ocean sneezes spreading the virus. It was so serious and scary.

I would suggest Chips & Coin at 720 Minnesota Ave. I went in there this morning and there is hardly anyone there, but they have a limited selection of groceries, but all the basics and decent prices. They are very good people to deal with and family owned business.

I was at Wal-Mart in Gladstone yesterday and it was madhouse.

KCMO health department said 25% of maximum occupancy is safe. Why don't we reopen everything and just adhere to 25% of Max. Occupancy guidelines? Also require masks and/or gloves to enter the stores.

This way folks won't all crowd the big box stores and they can go to places like Hobby Lobby and Marshall's.

This won't even be news in 2 months.

Good idea Bryan.

Makes too much sense to be implemented though.

Picking up grocery's in these stores you can witness just how baboon brained a lot of Kansas City residents are.

Missouri gave a weekend warning that Sunday 12:01 A.M. the State was under super duper probation. Did they not expect this mad dash to the Chopper I don't think they are THAT stupid, they wanted this rush. If they were really worried why didn't they shutdown ASAP ?

Someone ate the giant catfish right out of the Bass Pro fish tank in Independence.

It's gett'in serious when that kind of stuff happens.

4:40...you were exposed from two and see half hours in that place. I think you are screwed...their "patience" was pointless.

The Wal-Mart in Raytown was a shit hole even before any of this started. This just brought it to a head, like an infected pus filled pimple. It's all gonna POP!
