RAINY DAY BOOKS GARNERS $64K & COUNTING IN GOFUNDME DONATIONS!!!

We talked about this local bookstore request for free money last week and now it's time for a progress report . . .

RAINY DAY BOOKS STAYS WINNING EPIC DONATIONS AMID COVID-19 HARSH TIMES!!!

The Friends of Rainy Day Books garners $64,584 of their $280,000 goal and cash keeps pouring in for these middle-class purveyors or literature and knowledge.

Here's their thanks and perspective whilst some snarky critics scoff at first world problems and boutique biz begging . . .

"We are filled with joy today as we reflect on the events of the last week. So many of you responded to our request for help in so many ways. We are deeply grateful, in awe of the kindness you showered upon us. Roger & I saw so many wonderful messages of support along with your contributions and orders. It brings us to tears when we hear from people whose lives have taken them far from Kansas City, yet still remember and share how much Rainy Day Books has meant to them.

"We are pleased to say we are working with our landlord, First Washington Realty, on a plan that will allow us to weather the storm and continue our efforts to remain part of The Fairway Shops. They have been working hard with all of their tenants across the country, and we are very grateful for their efforts as well.

Our GoFundMe has raised almost $60,000 as of this post, and this will be a solid foothold for us to continue our mission for the summer, especially over the next month of lockdown."

  1. Thought the whole purpose of the Save for a Rainy day was the responsibility of the listener, not the public to cover their ass for not listening and failing to take it serious.

    1. True Dat. I'll be taking them over a copy of Aesop's Fables one day. Asking them to listen while in a circle , to remain quiet while I read them stories from the book. Perhaps they will catch on to Survival 101 vs begging. Then we will move on to a tale of Two cites, followed by the Chapter of death by 1,000 cuts via Chinese warfare. They will learn and spread the word to the Volvo crowd of a million bumper stickers." I like Shakesphere", she said like every American Actor.

    2. ^^^ Every American Actor except for the guy who started his audition by asking
      "So this Juliette's fifteen, right?"
(p.s. he didn't get the part)

  3. That gal in the picture reminds me of a woman at DST Systems that used her "charms" to get ahead. She was basically a call girl for the guys there. Well at least the guys with money. Not the lower level guys. DST had a bunch of golddiggers there.
