Leawood Couple Targeted In Bungled Marijuana Raid Settles Case Against Sheriff's Deputies

A Leawood, Kansas, couple whose home was raided by a police tactical team in a bungled search for marijuana has settled its civil suit against the Johnson County Sheriff's deputies who led the operation. The amount of the settlement with Robert and Adlynn Harte, retired CIA employees, is unknown because the settlement document has been sealed.

  1. Good for them. I hope Leawood had to pay major money.

  2. Imagine the tens of thousands of dollars wasted in this (if not hundreds of thousands). Let's say they were growing weed, the cops knew they weren't dealing so you pull this kind of operation on someone growing a couple of plants in their basement (which they weren't). The cops get their jollies busting down doors for no reason, there are far better ways to apprehend somebody. Instead they scare the shit out of two retirees and their kids who were growing tomatoes.

  3. I would be worried that the rogue CIA might take revenge by some very dark methods for exposing the former agents. That is a huge no no.

  4. CIA. Nothing to see here. Move along, please.

  5. Leawood Po-Po has nothing to do so they raid a home that had tea leaves in the trash. What a bunch of inept weekend warriors. They've been watching too many episodes of Cops and thought they would join the fun.
It's sad the family had to go years before they made them pay.

  6. LOL, it's not the Leawood Po-Po, it's the Sheriff, but can't wait to see the payout once the Judge unseals the settlement.
