Governments Splurged on Stadiums and Luxury Hotels Before Coronavirus Shut Them All Down

Coronavirus The COVID-19 pandemic has devastated the hotel industry, and in doing so put the taxpayers who funded generous incentives for these hotels at risk of never being paid back. 1. All of these "development projects" were financial losers that were going to be sucking chest wounds on KCMO taxpayers BEFORE the Covid19 virus.
Now the hole to be filled by tax dollars is just that much deeper and will last that much longer.
    Like, FOREVER.
Yet another "deal" where the amateurish KCMO electeds left the meeting wearing nothing but their socks and big big smiles.
    Next up?
Sucking air with Waddell and Reed!

    1. Sad but true.

KC taxpayers pay for it going up and coming down. Yet we still keep electing the same bus who push these projects on all of us.

  3. The only way to break that cycle is require each voter own and pay taxes on at least one parcel of land. Real property. Pay no property tax, get no vote. Voting doesn't impact renters nearly as much as the people whose money makes the city function. (Scalable to the national level). A simple, effective solution and an immediate return to traditional and responsible governance.

  5. Three self-serving mayors, and too many poorly educated members of city council, have wasted years setting Cowtown up for a financial train wreck.
