Kansas City Star Spreads Coronavirus Racial Discord In Complaint Over Mask Discomfort

There is a surge in coronavirus cases with the local Black community that deserves consideration and hopefully a compassionate response. That's productive conversation that MSM pundits should be having with public health officials and elected leaders.

Instead and because very few people of any demographic like wearing the masks . . .

Week old culture war talking points are spouted by the newspaper's last remaining columnist of color . . . Some of the personal insights are worthwhile but this one has the fingerprints of senior editorial scribes all over it and it "feels" like talking point garbage that's safely hidden behind the paywall . . . The link tease pretty much tells the story:

Wearing a face mask and shopping while black in Kansas City - this is uncomfortable

At a recent meeting, a citizen asked Kansas City police officials what safeguards the department had in place to protect the civil rights of minorities who are heeding medical experts' advice and wearing face masks in public. The responses were telling a reminder that even during a global pandemic, the rights of certain people are an afterthought.

  1. Notice the star is being more picky with their paywalled articles.

They might be noticing the nobody really cares what they say or write.

  2. Really???? A lot of blacks have moved to the burbs because of Sly James and Quinton Lucas and they have shopped with masks on and no one looks at them any different. So like the red star loves to do lets stir up racial hatred so they can divide and conquer. If you support the red star you are just as guilty as they are.

  3. I wish those places that are now open for business would all post signs saying. "No Masks, No Service!"

  4. Most people think of all blacks as criminals anyway. The masks don't change anything.

  5. Let me guess, the Falling Star's lone Editorial Board person of color, Toriano Porter, is a VICTIM?

Colleen McCain Nelson: Hey Toriano! I need you to write a "Blacks are victims" editorial for me again. Can you just throw something together real fast?

Toriano Porter: I'm on it, Miss Daisy!
