Possibly one of the most QUESTIONABLE moves we've seen from a big corporation that's running FOR-PROFIT business . . . We'll talk about this more later but for now our smarter readers wanted to highlight this horrific ask from a community confronting one of the worst economic downturns in 100 years.
To be fair, this pretty much frees up TKC to do the same thing next week!!!
Here's the money quote and more info . . .
"If you’d like to help and you’re a subscriber, you can now make a tax-deductible donation to preserve local journalism. We have partnered with the nonprofit Local Media Foundation, which is accepting contributions on our behalf. Donate by visiting givebutter.com/kansascitystar."

The Kansas City Star is working to help you navigate the pandemic. And you can help us
Coronavirus has brought unanticipated and significant challenges to our families and our communities. And how we respond to this pandemic is the biggest story of our lives. At The Star, we feel a responsibility to keep you informed with breaking news and beyond.
If the Star folds that will be only good thing that happens from the China virus.
ReplyDeleteYeah because Tony's attempts at advertising have been sooooooooo successful
ReplyDeleteDeadbeat, tell us what you know about online ads other than giving all your info to facebook so they can sell you more butt plugs. That last thing this blog needs to do is take your dumb-ass advice.
DeleteGive butter? Now that's so dumb. I think what they really mean to say is "give the commies money" so they can eat and keep up the one sided armature journalism that's going down.
ReplyDeleteDid the star catch the China Virus?
ReplyDeleteThey wanted the one sided Commie liberal shit. Let the one sided Commie Liberal shit be the ones to keep that door open. See how that shit works out in the real World.
ReplyDeleteA high school "newspaper" run by a bunch of self-important amateurs.
ReplyDeleteJust take a look at most of the advertisements in the paper and you'll see just how far it's fallen.
Sad.
And clueless.
The commies are lucky their shithole building doesn’t get torched and the leftist traitors aren’t beaten in the streets.
ReplyDelete@8:24. Okay boomer. That's a very nice call to arms. Now why don't think about what you want for dinner and what you're dentures will allow. Get some sleep, you've got a big day tomorrow. More trolling your more successful relatives! You're doing so great. Keep it up. We love you.
DeleteIf they had been balanced 15 years ago when people still read the newspaper they might have a chance. But instead they tried to use their product as a vehicle to their agenda. Way too late now. Their base is gone or broke. Kind of like liberal talk radio. Down in flames years ago. RIP liberal rag.
ReplyDeleteI guess my wife helped....... She called to let them know we didn't get our copy of the Sunday paper.... But they never brought one and she didn't call them back so I guess that helped..... anonymous for one of many reasons I don't want people thinking I'm dumb enough to buy the KC STAR..........
ReplyDeleteHow is this tax deductible? You donate to a nonprofit, who in turn passes it on to the Star. Isn't that money laundering?
ReplyDeleteGood point!
DeleteSince they're a PR mouthpiece for the Democratic party, why don't they ask them for help?
