This will have permanent consequences. We've endured these paradigm shifts before - the Civil War, The First World War, the Great Depression, the Second World War, the Vietnam War & 9-11. Scholars will debate the why's & the wherefore's, & thousands of books will be written about the Great Coronavirus Pandemic of 2020.

History will not be kind to Donald J. Trump.

Every word of every rally, of every press conference & every tweet will be preserved for prosperity to ponder & wonder at. People of the future will wonder at us, too. How could we have let this happen? Why did we not stop him from destroying our country & our way of life?

We will never fully recover as we have never fully recovered from the other paradigm events that we have endured. Each one changed us & this will change us, too.

I hope it is for the better. But, it will ultimately be up to our grandchildren to see if we are a Phoenix, or a Rome.

  6. Holy dogshit, are people actually on here debating the merits of governmental entities on a death toll less than the average flu deaths? In a pandemic that has miraculously reduced flu deaths as covid deaths increase? If we recover and the power grab by the deep-state aka NWO aka entrenched bureaucracy hasn't totally destroyed freedom, the books will make a laughing stock of society so willing to cede complete and utter power to the bureaucracy over absolutely nothing. And yes, even if we make it to the latest and greatest bureaucrat "scientist's" models of 60k deaths, that is literally nothing.

    ReplyDelete

Despite your deepest wish that this novel-flu would wipe out free-thinking people only (aka the most hated enemy of the prog party), I think you'll be sadly disappointed. And yes, sad but true, 60k deaths a year of flu (the 5th or 6th highest rate) is truly nothing in a population of 330m.

  9. KANSAS: 1426 cases, with 69 deaths = Mortality rate of 4.84 percent
MISSOURI: 4686 cases, with 133 deaths = Mortality rate of 2.84 percent
Why has Kansas consistently reported a COVID-19 that is nearly 2X as lethal as the same virus in neighboring Missouri?
Answer: Because ever since KS Governor Kelly closed schools for the remainder of the semester, in mid-March, when there was only 1 death in the state, she's been playing political games to maximize the threat and consolidate power. An analysis of KS death certificates and medical records will reveal that many of those reported as having died from COVID-19 did not. Governors that are inflating their COVID-19 cases/deaths are looking for more federal dollars and political attention.

It is very interesting that the death rate in Sweden is by no means excessive compared to any other Western country that has locked its citizens down. The only restrictions were on gatherings of 50 or more people, and advice such as over-70s being urged to stay at home. Swedish schools, shops, restaurants, and pubs all remained open. Nevertheless, The World Health Organization (WHO), has been insisting that Sweden lock its people down. The corruption behind the WHO and how it is being dominated by Bill Gates is a matter of record. Sweden is demonstrating to the world that the lockdown is absurd and it has NOT prevented anything. Sweden is treating its population with respect, unlike the rest of the Western powers.

The problem is very clear. Sweden is proving that the lockdown insisted by Bill Gates is nonsense and it has deliberately undermined the world economy, destroyed jobs, and is subjecting people to the loss of all privacy and liberty – but to what end? Is this a major socialist move to wipe out small business and then allow only state-run businesses or large corporations who donate to the Socialists for favored status to survive?

    Something is just not right!

  10. We still know less about the virus than we need to. We do not even know yet whether those who have had the virus are fully or partially immune to another onset. We have no effective test yet, nor a vaccine, and it is uncertain when we will have either.

My point is, predictions about how long we will have to quarantine or social distance are just guesses. Educated guesses in some cases, but still guesses.

As for the poster's prediction how history will treat Trump, it too is a guess. An uneducated one, but still a guess. He has not been right about anything so far, and likely is not this time either.
