Kansas churches sue Gov. Kelly to overturn order limiting religious gatherings
TOPEKA, Kan. - The issue of religious gatherings in the state of Kansas is once again going to court. Two churches filed a federal lawsuit Thursday in U.S. District Court in Kansas, arguing that Gov. Laura Kelly's executive order 20-18 violates the First Amendment as well as the Kansas Preservation of Religious Freedom Act.
You had to know this was going to happen.
ReplyDeleteSo the Gov tries to save lives, and she ends up getting sued? This is a time where all people need to be flexible and unselfish. Churches want to "save souls" - how about they save lives first? The people who might die from not being locked down may go to hell. Then they would be sending people to hell before they really need to go.
ReplyDeleteHere's the way it works. We have laws in this country. They must be followed by everybody, including elected officials. When they aren't you can be sued. The attorney general advised as an attorney her order wasn't legal. She said it was political. Perhaps the AG was right. Lefties keep saying the prez must follow the law. The governor must do the same. I suppose you are one of those peeps that don't think there are laws on immigration if someone is just trying to "better their life"? BTW, I don't even go to church.
DeleteBaptist have been a pain in the ass for 700 years.
ReplyDeleteThe American religious conservative is a pox on humanity. They wonder why people have left churches by the millions. Most religious people I know are massive hypocrites who wouldn't piss on a homeless guy if he was on fire. "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." -Mahatma Gandhi
ReplyDelete9AM sounds like a religious Progressive, you know, open and inclusive of those with differing views...NOT!
Delete8:23 - not everyone is a social misfit like you whose only friend is talking to a computer voice Alexa.
ReplyDeleteThe rest of us have faith in God and humanity and enjoy the presence of God and fellow Christians. The brotherhood of Christians is powerful.
Human feeling and faith are beyond your comprehension.
It's hilarious how the people who believe in talking serpents and virgin births won't entertain for a second that maybe humans have upset the balance of nature in a way that allows for a virus like this to occur.
DeleteDid Granny ever debug her unemployment system's Cobol program or was last night Bingo night at the Tonganoxie Cracker Barrel taking Granny away from closing churches?
ReplyDeleteChristians not acting very christian again.
ReplyDeleteThe bible warns of false prophets.
Don't fall for these fakes.
Just another democrat scumbag trying to be Vice President by showing what a fabulous commie she is
ReplyDelete.....It's faith that's beyond comprehension.....human feeling is
ReplyDeletea normal part of human nature.
