JACKSON COUNTY EXEC FRANK WHITE HAS YOUR COVID-19 STIMULUS CHECK?!?

This article is garbage speculation pushed forward by the fading local newspaper but here's a round-up of the faulty premise:

"Jackson County, not Mayor Quinton Lucas, may be responsible for distributing federal aid to combat the coronavirus crisis. A federal package that passed Congress last week guarantees each state a minimum of $1.25 billion in aid, but states may receive more based on population . . ."

More deets behind a paywall that probably isn't worth it.

KC Biz Journal: Jackson County — not KC — may be distributing federal coronavirus aid

  2. I wonder whether the county will offset past due property taxes against federal grants. That way the county can be even less popular than it is now, which seems to be its goal.

  4. I feel bad for whoevar has to trust Frankie boi with their money, I’m guessing those will be the poor who don’t file taxes because that’s how it’s supposed to be dished out. I’ll bet you Frankie will hold on to that money as long as he can to steal the interest made while “researching” where people are, he could pilfer millions off of this so don’t think for one minute you’ll be seeing your money this year, if you see it at all.

  5. The $1200 "checks" go directly to the individuals. The resources to the states go directly to the states, unless a municipality is in excess of 500,000 people.
