Former Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill SLAMS Stimulus Trump Check Signature

Check the Show-Me State angle as federal stimulus checks for millions of Americans will be delayed by several days because President Donald Trump wanted his signature to be on them, the Washington Post reported late Tuesday.

From Raw Story offers a perspective from a longtime local politico and current power player pundit:

Former Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) pummeled Donald Trump for forcing the Treasury to hold up sending out the desperately-needed $1200 stimulus checks to taxpayers so his name could be printed on the memo line.

According to the former lawmaker, Trump’s self-promoting maneuver is going to infuriate exactly the voters he needs if he has any hope of being re-elected

“He’s delaying the needed money by these people for an ego exercise,” she added. “That really — and that’s going to break through to those suburban voters. That’s what turns them off on Donald Trump. That’s what turns them toward calm, not chaos, which Joe Biden represents.”

You decide . . .

  2. OK if you liberals are going to make a big deal out of a flipping memo signature, give your money back or give it to me. Then go vote someone in like Joe Blow and see what you get in return. Mckaskill needs to go to wal mart and get some baby butt paste it'a apparent she's still chapped.

If you're going to call out Biden for one claim of sexual impropriety, than I'll mention that TWENTY women have accused Donald Trump.

There was absolutely no reason to do this.

Vote Blue to end the National Disgrace that is Donald Trump.

    2. Byon, don't be obtuse. It's not that Trump, Kav or others have not been accused, it's the hypocrisy of the left that told us over and over that ALL womanz must be believed and vilified all the alleged perp.s without so much of hint of innocent until proven guilty or due process.

    3. ^^^ Speaking of obtuse, the #MeToo phrase is Believe Women, not Believe 'All' Women.

The motto came about because the default response in defending men was to dismiss the victims. Because they were supposedly willing participants or sluts, the party line was just don't pay attention to them. Ignore them.

So the first step is now to listen to all accusations. Believe that women are still victimized in an environment that still allows harassment and assault. Then you can decide if the charges are credible within a due process investigation.

Believe 'All' Women was made up by the right and echoed by yourself in bad faith to again undermine the #MeToo movement.

    1. No, you dumbass - Trump's signature will not be on the checks, he is just holding things up a few weeks so the Treasury Department can have them re-printed with his name on the Memo line.

  7. A Treasury Department spokeswoman, however, denied any delay and said the plan all along was to issue the checks next week.
“Economic Impact Payment checks are scheduled to go out on time and exactly as planned — there is absolutely no delay whatsoever,” the spokeswoman said in a written statement. She said this was a faster process than the stimulus checks the George W. Bush administration issued in 2008 to head off a looming recession.
“In fact, we expect the first checks to be in the mail early next week which is well in advance of when the first checks went out in 2008 and well in advance of initial estimates,” the statement said.

    2. No delays doesn't pass the laugh test.

You can't make a change like this at the last minute without causing a delay. The administration promised Americans would get paid 3 weeks from the act passing, which is today. So where are the checks now?

BTW, is Trump personally backing the checks with money from his own account? No, this isn't his money. He doesn't even pay taxes.

I wouldn't want to see his name on it, because past contractors and employees all tell us his checks bounced and they didn't get paid.

  8. A month ago, according to the Democrats and left-wing media nut jobs, over 2 million Americans were going to die of corona virus.

Thanks to Presidents Trump on travel bans from China and Europe, plus re-directing U.S. manufacturing efforts to make ventilators, masks, hospital gowns, malaria drug, etc., it appears President Trump saved millions of American lives as we have 28,000 not 2,000,000 plus deaths.

Thank you President Trump and God Bless the United States of America!

    1. What ban? Never happened.

South Korea got their first case on January 20th, the same day as the US. They prepped and tested. We did not.

The US has over 30,000 deaths.
      South Korea has 225.

Yeah, thanks for the deaths Trump. A failure that will be judged as a crime against humanity.

    2. Apples and oranges comparison. S. Korea, in recent memory, had half a million screaming Chinamen invade alongside N. Korean commies and killed several hundred thousand S. Korean citizens. They are not penetrated as the US is with Chinese returning from the New Years celebration. The US is close to being a wholly owned subsidiary of the red Chinese. Thanks, Bill Clinton.

  15. 28,000 corona virus deaths.

Over 600,000 Americans die each year of cancer.

Time to reopen the economy. We have the masks, the gloves, the ventilators etc.

Leave the schools closed and those over 60 or pre-existimg conditions can work from home.

  16. Grocery store workers deserve a big bonus from their employers. Their employers are making big profits due to their employees efforts while everyone else is "stay at home".

If this virus was as bad as they say, grocery store workers would be stacked up like kindling in the Frozen Food section by the tens of thousands nationwide.

Grocery store cashiers and workers have been exposed to hundreds of people each day, most not wearing a mask or gloves.

The rest of us should at least be able to do office work. Just don' t have meetings in conference rooms. Open windows if you can, lysol wipe desks etc. Use common sense.
