Fast Food Fight For Worker Rights Confronts Coronavirus Threat To Speed Up Automation

Fast Food Fight For Worker Rights Confronts Coronavirus Threat To Speed Up Automation

The fast food giant is hurting during the locdown: McDonald’s global same-store sales down 22% in March as coronavirus pandemic shuts dining areas

Sadly, the restaurant is going to make some tough decisions in the near future . . . LIKE IT OR NOT, KIOSKS ARE MORE ACCURATE AND THEY DON'T GET CORONAVIRUS.

Here's the local worker complaint:

Kansas City fast food worker raises concerns amid coronavirus pandemic

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Stay-at-home orders have forced many businesses to close, but certain establishments, including fast food restaurants, are still open - and one Kansas City-area worker has concerns. Kenya Banks works at McDonald's and said the COVID-19 pandemic has scared her.

It is my hope that fast food workers everywhere would dedicate their future to obtaining higher education and improved job skills with plans of getting out of the fast food worker business asap. These jobs were never designed to be primary occupations, they were originally filled by part-time workers and students. These fast food jobs will never become sustainable employment for anyone. Please get additional training and get out of fast food!

WHO WINS WITH THE CORONAVIRUS SCARE?

The big corporations!

McDonald's, WalMart, etc., will actually end up with more market share in their sector.

The small businesses are the ones that won't reopen, or will struggle mightily to survive.

The big corporations will also get the big bailouts.

That is fine that it scares her, but what Kisha really needs is for it to terrify her...that's when she can go see the a shrink, get a diagnosis, and file for SSA disability. Scary ain't gonna cut it.

At least machines don't pick their nose between making your burgers, nor do they check their 7 times more dirty than a toilet cell phone . Last time I was in the oak park mall food court, watched 5 workers check their cell while making food. Not one then washed their hands.
