THE KANSAS UNEMPLOYMENT WEBSITE CRASH ENDANGERS FAMILIES, WORKERS AND PUBLIC SAFETY!!!
Locals have been out of work for weeks and the staggered scheduling for claim files threatens to leave workers a ANOTHER WEEK WITHOUT ANY BENEFITS from A SYSTEM THEY PAID INTO . . . Some for their entire lives.

Any of you see the IT director for the state of Kansas on TV last week? She said, "the mainframe in the unemployment dept hasn't been updated in 40 years." Yes, 40 years. Decades of ineffective, purposeful neglect (mostly by Republicans not passing bills to fund the undertaking) has led the state to this point. The system needs a top-to-bottom upgrade which will cost lots of money, money the governor cannot throw at it without legislative approval. The legislature in Kansas has been controlled by Republicans for DECADES. A lone, solitary governor cannot fix this herself. She can propose a bill which you know the Republican legislators will shoot down. You stupid fucking simpletons need to learn how government operates and where to properly put the blame

Actually the State of Kansas Dept. of Labor benefits is running on old mainframe computers running COBOL or COBOL II coding language, The interface to the public is through servers. This is why the system is overloaded and crashing. The speed of the servers far exceeds the processing speed of the mainframe supporting the system.It's not democrat, marxist or republican it's just simple computer stuff. Maybe you should "learn the correct lingo"

Well, have a look at the head of the Department of Labor. Yup, a diversity candidate. An obese hispanic woman who likely hasn't had to do any work in her career. How should we expect her to do her job now? But, she identifies as a "Proud Latina" and does significant "migrant" outreach so we can all feel good about that. - Proud American.
