DISGRACE!!! BIKE/WALK ACTIVIST AGENDA HIJACKS KANSAS CITY STREETS & CASH AMID CORONAVIRUS LOCKDOWN!!!

As Kansas City watches an American culture war pandemic erupt, local news missed an important local money & land grab.

The basics are hidden behind a paywall but we share them FREELY for purposes of education and public information . . .

"Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas hopes to shut down several city streets to car traffic to provide more space for pedestrians and cyclists during the coronavirus pandemic.

"Under Lucas’ resolution, Interim City Manager Ernest Rouse’s office would identify three east-west routes: one in the Northland, one in the city’s core and one further south. Lucas said Kansas Citians largely travel north and south because of generations of segregation dividing east and west. Lucas said he would like residents to see more connectivity."

It gets worse . . .

WITH NO PUBLIC DISCUSSION KANSAS CITY IS BASICALLY MOVING FORWARD WITH THE $400-MILLLION BIKE PLAN!!!

Mayor & Council just changed the name and made the funding a bit more vague . . .

The "Vision Zero" Task Force will give cycling advocates a great deal of power to bully their way into nearly every upcoming construction project in order to "guarantee" accessibility for cyclists and pedestrians. The contracts may or may not go to their friends within this same "activist" community.

Remember, just yesterday these are the same people made the dubious claim a hit & run murder over a personal beef was the fault of "car culture" in Kansas City.

And so, the City Hall money machine never stops rolling for people who know how to work the system. Meanwhile, long-suffering Kansas City taxpayers struggle under threat of plague, historic unemployment and rising crime as insiders secure lucrative contracts in the name of protecting the environment, ending segregation and saving lives by way of mostly unused bike lanes.

Developing . . .

I was honestly wondering if anybody would catch this one.

Earlier in the day would have been better but there was no stopping it either way.

Maybe not such a big deal since all that accessibility consultants require is a cheap payoff.

This article makes no sense at all. There's no bikers in KC. Very few at best. But hey go ahead and spend billions of the sidewalk and infrastructure money for bike lanes You stupid idiots.

^^^ It makes perfect sense if you have a consulting contract with the city. Sorry you don't, LOSER.

What this really means is they're going to RUIN every street in Kansas City just like they did with Armour Boulevard in Midtown.

Normal people still outnumber gay people in this city, even though it doesn’t seem like it. The bike/walk people will end up with nothing, just like the KC Tenants freeloaders.

Did quinton ever think that by the time the study is done to shut down the streets, the lock down might be over?

City planning at its best. To little and too late.

Let the car culture frustration begin. Awesome.

Cars aren't the problem. Phones and driving are the problem. Phones should use the internal GPS to shut phone off when moving over 3 mph. Save lives of drivers, riders and lower insurance cost for all.

Convert the new Lowe's hotel into apartment units, and give every bike rider in KC a subsidized unit. Remove the cars from the streets within the downtown loop and leave the rest of the city alone. Two problems solved, and cheaper for the taxpayers.

Don't see many cars either moron, except the ones taking up the free socialist street parking.

Oh I know!! It's so awful for Armour to be different than how I remember it!

Give us more free nanny state Car streets! Make them all 70 feet wide with socialist free parking too, and nanny pays for everything. That way I can stay dependent on nanny for my transportation and never try to obtain any roads for myself.
