CORONAVIRUS BLAME GAME: KANSAS CITY MAYOR QUINTON & MISSOURI GUV PARSON CRITICIZED ON REOPEN STRATEGY!!!

Tonight, just a reminder that it's impossible to please everybody. Or anybody, really.
Big picture . . .
GUV PARSON REVEALED PLANS FOR A QUICK REOPEN AND CONFRONTED PUBLIC SAFETY CRITICISM TODAY!!! MEANWHILE, MAYOR QUINTON HINTS AT A MORE GRADUAL KCMO REOPEN AND ENDURES REBUKE FROM LOCAL BIZ!!!
Again, local leaders endure push back from an increasingly angry broke-ass public no matter their tactics.
Here's a glimpse at comments directed toward Guv Parson on his early reopen plans:
"Governor Mike Parson is trying to kick Missourians off Unemployment and endanger thousands of lives with this reckless decision to reopen early . . . This is a complete lack of leadership. We pay him to lead and have the top medical professionals in the state advising him. His guidance is basically “figure it out on your own . . . He's acting as if this virus has some how disappeared and we’ve defeated it. This was right after the State Health Director said that 1 infected person on average has contact with 32 people"
And then, a desperate plea directed toward Mayor Quinton Lucas regarding his decision to approach the situation in a much more methodical fashion . . .
"Mayor Lucas, It’s time to open back up, PLEASE move up the date to May 4th!!! Please also look at the numbers associated with the economic depression regarding deaths associated with stress related issues (heart failure, suicide, substance abuse, etc). Domestic & child abuse also goes up. I believe the solution may have a higher mortality rate than the problem. We have been inundated with the dangers of the corona virus, while the media glosses over the devastation of an economic depression. The intent of the original shutdown was to flatten the curve, it has been flattened, it's time to get back to work. I believe the continued closures are destroying more lives than they are saving & will have untold long-term suffering consequences!"

This is America. You can always stay home, if you have a home.
ReplyDelete^^^ Brilliant!
DeleteJust proves that it's all political now. Gradual shut down or wide open. The virus spread exponentially so we're about to find out the hard way how badly these decisions will impact our city.
ReplyDeleteMaybe hold on to that toilet paper because at this rate there is bound to be a second lock down.
^^^^ Yep, it'll happen right at November election time.
DeleteDamned if you do, damned if you don't. Welcome to American politics.
ReplyDeleteKc has 500 confirmed cases of which 15 died, not one word on how many have recovered, why is that?
ReplyDeleteSt. Louis has 75% of the states entire cases and most counties In Missouri have less than 10 cases period, they can easily reopen. there are 114 counties in Missouri and less than 25 have more than 30 cases. #liberatemissouri
Reopen early is just the republicans saying they don't give a damn if you get sick, as long as you severe them.
ReplyDeleteI it’s republicans saying they want to work and not spend their time demanding free rent
Deletefuck re opening anything
ReplyDeleteI enjoy sitting around my house without dealing with people
9:11 It will never matter because some had mild symptoms and some had no symptoms at all so neither of those groups got tested or went to the doctor. The numbers mean nothing.
ReplyDeleteYou chuds have no idea what is coming with the economic fallout from this virus.
ReplyDeleteGird your loins folks, it's fixing to be a bumpy ride in this phony first world country.
We better shut down every winter during the flu season because 63,000 people died from that in the 2019-20 prime outbreak period. That's more than the current count for COVID-19.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice if our leaders agreed on any kind of strategy. As usual it's every man and woman for themselves.
ReplyDeleteAlways has been. Only fools rely on their "leaders" to save them.
ReplyDelete^^^ +100
DeleteQuinton just wants to get a higher office. Quickly on his way out of here. Parson seems to be thinking of the economy first and doing what his party tells him too.
ReplyDeleteMayor Lucas is doing the right thing. Thank you. KC appreciates your help in keeping the residents safe!
ReplyDeleteY'all should get out at the first opportunity and hug strangers and mingle and ride the buses and lick tables and shop everywhere and handle lots of cash (lick it, too). Preferably while playing golf during thunderstorms.
ReplyDeleteThat'll get rid of you "open up" pinheads in a big fucking hurry.
^^^ Dumb.
ReplyDeleteMayor Meathead hasn't demonstrated any ability to manage a city. He should be recalled. It is past time for his self-centered glorification seeking in front of television cameras, and media, while running his mouth, to cease.
ReplyDeletethat would be nice but it's more likely that parson loses and the mayor wins another term and goes on to higher office.
DeleteCompetent leadership in Washington with mass testing available would be nice.
