$175K HELP WANTED!!! KANSAS CITY PUBLIC LIBRARY NEEDS NEW BOSS!!!

Right now we share a glimmer of hope for thousands of locals desperately seeking gainful employment during this coronavirus pandemic lockdown.

NOW HIRING!!! KANSAS CITY PUBLIC LIBRARY DESPERATELY SEEKING NEW HONCHO & PAYING AT LEAST $175K!!!

Let's remember the past on #TBT . . .

The old boss was trust fund do-gooder Crosby Kemper III. He "earned" the job by way of family money, decades of Kemper clan donations and because he liked politics whilst his more competitive relatives are still playing the financial game.

Sadly, Kemper Trey moved up to D.C. and abandoned all of his Missouri right-wing political pals who hope to maintain their consulting jobs by way of lobbying against the social safety net successfully in Jeff City but mostly in vain when it comes to STL & KCMO.

D.C. suits Crosby III far better than this cowtown given that he always seemed to hate getting his hands dirty in local politics and now he's completely above the fray.

The bright side . . .

A new job opening will provide a great deal of social status, the bully pulpit and rule over the fanciest hobo hangouts in Kansas City to one lucky applicant.

Special thanks to KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS for sending this listing our way. Checkit:

  1. Laugh but I think this is a good opportunity. The new hire should be a former journalist for The Star. They know the community better than anyone else.

    1. The new generation of Kempers don't seem to be very interested in Kansas City. That's probably for the best.

    2. What's a library?

  2. @10:55, A Library is the place you used to go to use a computer and post snark, before you stole the one that the KCPSD loaned your Sister to do her schoolwork on.

    1. ^^^^ WRONG.

A library is a place where the homeless make BM and wash their balls in the sink.

  3. ^^^^ Which you and @10:55 used to do together when it was open.

  4. ^^^^ So you admit peeping? Perv.

  5. Fun stuff T, but here is something to consider.

After years of advocating against taxes in Kansas City. Crosby Kemper III pushed a tax for an outdated resource on residents and then took a higher paying D.C. job when his efforts were successful.

That doesn't sound very "conservative" to me.

  6. Best library for research and quiet place to do work in KC: Linda Hall.
Clean and maintained. No homeless vagrants.

    1. Agree about Linda Hall. Really impressive library, wish there were more resources like that in KC.

  7. Wow! What a bunch of amazingly out of touch losers. I'd be surprised if any of them could find one of the library's branches, let alone know what's available there.

Those of us who use the library hope you will stay away.

  8. another hugely over paid position.

  9. The new hire could make $200,000. That's insane!

    And supported by taxpayers.

Nope, far too much for this work that a legacy of the past. That's basically property tax money and most people do not use the library at all.

  10. @11:16

That’s another perk of going to a library.
Showing a TKC internet troll a library card would be like showing Dracula the Cross.
Royals and Chiefs apparel works good also to keep the trolls away.

    ReplyDelete
  11. And I know Tony would never set foot in a library like Linda Hall....
No material with pictures of fake titties.

Maybe pictures of real titties in a medical text on anatomy.
But what good are real boobs to a fake internet troll?

  12. Cheptoo Kositany-Buckner should be considered. She used to work at the library and has a lot of experience at being unqualified and overpaid. Plus she needs a new Escalade.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Should be merged with Mid-Continent Library.

    ReplyDelete
  14. That is not the salary a city exec should be making. Cut that by at least $80k. Do this across all bloated salaries and we can start making a dent in the earnings tax.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Why don't you apply Tony? You can tell them how your blog fosters respect for gays, minorities and the homeless and what a literate group of people your "blog community" is.

I'm kidding, of course. It's disgusting.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. What have gays, minorities and homeless done to earn respect? I’ll wait. Thanks in advance for your non-reply.

  16. Typical TKC Reader: Hates this blog and checks it no less than 5 times a day.

  17. CROSBY SOLD US OUT!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think Crosby did his best for Kansas City but in the end we just wouldn't take his advice about keeping taxes low to help EVERYONE from the middle-class to the very poor. High taxes suck for all people. If he has a legacy, it's working to unite the very poor and the very rich.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Like the comments about different libraries in KC. There are a lot to choose from. hope that someday we can all go back to them. Will not take them for granted any longer.

    ReplyDelete
  20. NICE HAT CROSBY, TELL OBAMA WE SAID HI!

    ReplyDelete
  21. If you've got a phone, you've got a library. Why should taxpayers need to fund these buildings any longer.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Not a crazy salary for the executive in charge of an organization that includes hundreds, if not thousands, of employees and manages a budget on many millions.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. ^^^^ Correct. But most of those employees don't do much but look after dusty old books that very few people want any longer.

      Delete
    2. Perhaps, but that is a debate about the value of libraries, not a debate about fair compensation for an executive in charge of an organization of that size.

      Delete
  23. The closing date on the position is coming up fast, leading one to posit (bereft knowledge of when the notice was posted) they have someone in mind and want to discourage a slew of other applicants.

    ReplyDelete
  24. ^^^ Hope it worked!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Small change that I appreciated from the library, they took out all of the cotton chairs. They were only good for getting bed bugs.

    ReplyDelete
  26. "What have gays, minorities and homeless done to earn respect? I’ll wait. Thanks in advance for your non-reply."

And what have you done to earn respect? I’ll wait. Thanks in advance for your non-reply.

  27. ^^^^ Good call.

    Every person has value!

    ReplyDelete
  28. 2:24, unfortunately that's not true. Nearly every book in the KC MO Public Library may be checked out for free. If the library does not have the book you want, it may be available through other library systems, also for free. But most of the library's books do not come in e-book formats. (Many of the newer best sellers do, but the older and more obscure volumes do not.) Lots of e-books are available at Amazon, but for a price. Only the library makes it free.

    ReplyDelete
  29. So if Crosby is leaving, does that mean his closest Associate, Rex Sinquefield is pulling out too?

If so that leaves Missouri Republicans "up a Tributary without an Evinrude"! Who's going to finance all their chicanery and malfeasance in Jeff City now?

    ReplyDelete
  30. And I had thought Crosby should get involved in Kansas City politics...maybe even run for Mayor. Turns out he is just a tool and is abandoning KC. I was told the Kempers were pieces of shit. Turns out to be true.
