TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY NOT YET TAKING COVID-19 THREAT SERIOUSLY!!!

As cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in the U.S., it's clear that local officials aren't really serious about getting Kansas City ready for an urgent threat that has already killed thousands of people across the globe.

Fact: Viruses don't care about silly election 2020 politics, American culture war distractions or even that precious "momentum" which distorts nearly every conversation regarding Kansas City's future.

Seriously, whilst TKC haters claim we're "fear mongering" it's important to prepare and merely suggest that locals need to at least consider the possibility that upcoming B-Ball games and gatherings might have to suffer as the rate of infection in the U.S. continues to rise. Sadly, all that we've seen from "many" sides of this health crisis is that the danger to the public has been politicized and innocent people as needlessly blamed and targeted.

Important local example revealing that KCMO is behind the curve when it comes to developing a plan . . .

The Kansas City, Missouri, Health Department Doesn't Have Coronavirus Tests - Or Know When It Will

Dr. Rex Archer, director of the Kansas City Health Department, says his office currently has no kits to test for possible cases of the new coronavirus. That's despite an announcement Tuesday evening from Vice President Mike Pence, who said "any American can be tested" for the virus.

  1. The Dems are mostly quiet now. I think they've realized that they just need to let President Trump do all the talking and he makes himself look horrible.

Frankly, I hope he's right. I hope the numbers are lower and this isn't a threat. I'd rather see him get a political win then for people to suffer an die. Anybody who argues otherwise has let politics ruin their soul.

  2. This is a bigger deal than the flu and I would suggest that if you look at places all over Kansas City, there's really not a great deal of focus on health and hygiene. People criticize the Star but they do one of the best public services by posting the Health Department lists of violations. That's important to keep people safe and remind restaurants that people are watching. It's small stuff like that which encourages people to talk about public safety in all of it's forms.

  3. Trumps arrogance is going to let this get out of hand. This is his Waterloo.

  4. So my question is, if Trump is getting flack for not taking this seriously, why aren't people after Quinton Lucas to do more? Is it just because he says the right thing.

So you can say: "We've got it under control" and do nothing but if you deny it like Trump than you're in trouble? Total double standard.

  8. This is a joke. A Democratic hoax. Chinese President Xi has done a great job. This will go away on it's own when the weather warms up. We haven't had any deaths yet and want to keep it that way. People are all getting better. Most don't even go to the doctor and they can keep going to work. The WHO stats are wrong. A vaccine will be ready very soon. Why can't we can use the flu vaccine? The markets are looking very good to me.

The 2020 GOP platform. Virus? Nothing to see here. All is well.

    Can coronavirus infections be prevented?
Right now, there aren't any vaccines to prevent human coronavirus infections. But you may able to reduce your risk of getting or spreading an infection by

Washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Avoiding touching your face, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
Avoiding close contact with people who are sick
Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces that you frequently touch
Covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue. Then throw away the tissue and wash your hands.
    Staying home when sick

  20. Right when we need a functioning media to look to in the midst of an emerging health crisis, what we have is a media that has been spending the last decade or more torching its credibility.

    ReplyDelete
  21. 1:10, that's an often asked basic question and I'll help you.

Flu is treatable. We know how to identify it and when people are contagious. We can avoid people that are sick and have a fever. They are encouraged to take off work. We have vaccines. Doctors and the media consistently deliver the message to get a flu shot for prevention. It's dealt with and a known risk.

Coronavirus risk has many unknowns. There is no cure or vaccine. People without symptoms are carriers and can infect others. We can't identify those carriers now since testing in this country is nearly non-existent. There are likely over a thousand carriers in the US now moving freely.

There were 3,000 deaths mostly regionally located in China in the first 2 months. Project those numbers over the next year as the virus spreads worldwide beyond containment efforts and the deaths will exceed regular flu. We do know the fatality rate is much higher than the flu and that 20% of those inflected will need hospitalization, so it's a more serious and dangerous illness.

Again, we can't protect ourselves from this virus in traditional ways since we can't vaccinate and can't tell who is spreading it. Regular flu doesn't shut down economies, but China had cities on lockdown. The US is just starting to experience those types of disruptions. This will cause a recession.

The impact of this will get worse and we don't have the proper leadership to coordinate a proper response. Information is the greatest tool we need to fight this now and we have a president that ignored this for 2 months and even now is denying the scope of the problem and spreading false information. He doesn't care about people getting sick; only the stock market and his reelection.

  23. In my opinion, this is a great article on Corona Virus.

This article reveals just how uninformed our "Leaders" want us to be. There are SO many logical and relevant questions that pertain to the Coronavirus origins, that in turn, relate to the possibility of a pro-active approach vis a vis an ad hoc disaster.

Again, most of the people, who make life and death decisions for Americans in Washington D.C. are every bit as stupid as you and many other Americans think Eric Swalwell is. Think about that while you read this article.

    https://www.zerohedge.com/health/who-or-what-started-wuhan-coronavirus-epidemic

It is harder and harder to believe ANYONE on camera.

"Newsweek’s interpretive angle is similar to that of other media survivors of the Mockingbird era of US propaganda. Most Big Media venues including Newsweek employed writers and editors who happily accepted extra money from the CIA to tell the US government’s side of the story during the Cold War.

The common denominator in much of the dinosaur-style of reporting that characterizes a discredited old guard is to describe any interpretation that challenges established conventions and interests as “conspiracy theories.” As Lance DeHaven-Smith has demonstrated in his book of the same name, the CIA led the way in the conceptual tweeking of the term, “conspiracy theories,” with the goal of discrediting interpretations considered menacing to established interests.

Again and again the media conglomerates most deeply integrated into dominant matrixes of power deploy the weaponized terminology with the goal of limiting public discourse. They invoke the boogeyman of “conspiracy theories” as a meme to flippantly discredit skeptical journalism questioning the honesty of official sources.

    Newsweek reported,
Cotton's remarks came amid the proliferation of various conspiracy theories surrounding coronavirus' origins, one of which suggests it may have come from a laboratory tied to Beijing's biowarfare program. In response, Facebook and other social media platforms have cracked down on the reach of posts that perpetuate these unsubstantiated allegations.

There is much irony in Newsweek’s supportive account of Facebook’s intervention aimed at blocking open exchange on a major undecided topic. The irony occurs because of the propensity of some MSM venues to condemn the Chinese government for their imposition of censorship including the blocking of their critics on social media.

The heavy-handed crackdown in the Occident on the increasingly vandalized domain of violated free expression on the Internet is quite comparable to communist crackdowns on dissident news and views especially during the peak of the Cold War.

  38. There are people taking it very seriously. There is no hand sanitizer in walmart, dollar stores, cvs or walgreens - they have places bottles of liquid hand soap in those aisles. Face masks have been sold out at Lowes and Home Depot, northern tool and harbor freight for over 3 weeks. Many masks were send by mail to China - by people in KC with relatives there - yes the mail is still operating in china. If the KC area population is 2,000,000 then the death toll will be 70,000 people (if death rate is 3.5%). Some of the deaths will be Chiefs and Royals players, soccer players, city leaders, and corporate leaders. As usual the only group to benefit will be the attorneys handling the massive new probate cases and squabbles over the deceased property by the kids left to greedly grab whatever they think they are entitled to.
