TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! MENTAL HEALTH SOUND CHECK FOR KANSAS CITY AMID CORONAVIRUS LOCKDOWN!!!

Under the best of circumstances mental health is a touchy subject that is often neglected or even downplayed in polite company. Stress, anxiety, depression and skill for coping are mostly reported clinically by the mainstream media and far more compassionate advocates are often openly mocked by cynical denizens of the American discourse.
As the U.S. coronavirus shut down is just getting underway, we notice many locals venting via social media and expressing frustration with their circumstances. Unfortunately, neither social media nor the Internets really provide the help that people need. There are exceptions and a few places where smallish online communities or private chats have offered encouragement . . . But for the most part, it's unwise to expect anything but trolling, hateration and equally desperate cries for help from strangers online.
Accordingly, we've compiled this quick glimpse at growing coronavirus mental health concerns and maybe a few hints to help locals check their head amid global hot mess:
Telehealth Head Shrinkers Treat Kansas City As Hobos Confront Growing Paranoia
Local psychologists adjust to new normal
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Psychologists at the University of Kansas Health System are staying busy, despite the coronavirus. Some patients, if need be, can be seen in person, but most are being seen in a different way. Therapists are using Zoom to visit with their patients.
Pandemic Mental Impact

Researchers are warning that the coronavirus pandemic could inflict long-lasting emotional trauma on an unprecedented global scale. They say it could leave millions wrestling with debilitating psychological disorders while dashing hopes for a swift economic recovery.
Social Distancing Consequences
Coronavirus outbreak raises threats to mental health
Suicide hotlines across the country are reporting new increases in the number of calls they are fielding since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak and new social distancing requirements that are keeping people apart. The calls are just one piece of a growing mental health crisis that has come with the fear of a global pandemic.
Calls For Help Spike
Mental health hotline users spike amid coronavirus pandemic: 'People's worlds have been flipped upside down'
Crisis intervention organizations across the nation have seen a dramatic surge in people seeking mental-health services as anxiety grows about the coronavirus pandemic. "Many people are feeling anxiety or fear, or an acute sense of vulnerability if you happen to have respiratory vulnerability or are immunocompromised," Ken Duckworth, medical director of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and an assistant clinical professor at Harvard University Medical School, tells Yahoo Lifestyle.
Prez Trump Reference To Rising Suicides Amid Economic Collapse Condemned
Trump's Warning About A Spike In Suicides Was "Incredibly Irresponsible." But Fears Over People's Mental Health Are Very Real.

Media meltdown over Trump's suicide warning shows the press can't let its hatred go

Sharing Head Check Advice
How to focus on your mental health during the coronavirus pandemic
TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) - A joke about anxiety and depression while social distancing and staying at home may be funny to some but for others, those mental health disorders are actually a reality. KSNT News spoke with the National Alliance on Mental Illness on ways people can take care of themselves during this time.
Accordingly . . .
Again, we won't give any advice other than sharing the general truism that Internets forums and social media frenemies aren't really going to share much sympathy.
For TKC, we merely abide by the wonderful misquote: "Music hath charms to soothe the savage beast." . . . That sounds cooler than the old school fancy version and leads us to our playlist tonight . . .
Here's a quick collection of some of our favorite songs on the topic of mental health . . .
As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night. At home.
Stress is understandable for everyone. Getting resources to those who are truly dealing with mental health issues is a real concern. Along with their meds.
ReplyDelete^^^ Too bad the media continually stresses people out every second of the day.
DeleteMost people were dealing with stressful lives before this pandemic. The economy and the paranoia about the disease are making things that much harder. Disagree that talking about it online won't help. Many people talking about their problems might inspire their real friends to reach out and maybe provide some comforting words or encouragement at the very least. Sure, TKC might not be the place for that but for other friends online, even a nice message or a few extra likes can brighten someones day.
DeleteThanks for adding The Pixes to your list, T.
Maybe the reporters at the NYT should call one of the mental health help lines.
ReplyDeleteOUCH.
DeleteHonesty Test
ReplyDeleteHow many Dems, Libs, Progressives secretly hope covid 19 gets really bad here so Trumps chances of re-election worsen?
^^^ Trump will get re-elected, Bernie stands no chance, Biden has Dementia, and Cuomo will use this Virus and all of his whinny ass publicity to run in November, this was planned after the Virus came out by the DNC, but I dont see a Governor of any party winning even his own state when all his states voters are unfortunately dying from this virus while the world watches. He for sure isnt a leader!!
ReplyDeleteI think that Cuomo has shown amazing leadership and has stepped up for his constituents. He would be a good choice to at least debate the president in an election.
ReplyDelete^^^ let’s see how he holds up to the unnecessary pressure of the media pounding him non stop about everything he does for 3 1/2 years for no reason before you make a decision,
ReplyDeleteOnly one person can handle that and is willing to put up with for another four years.
MAGA, KAG, TRUMP 2020!
It all comes down to a simplementation question: Are you better off now than you were four years ago? Right now the answer is a definitive NO. Voters have every right to want to change course. That is out Democracy.
ReplyDelete1:31, Don't be cutie pie.
ReplyDeleteYour snowflake president melts down anytime a reporter asks him about a previous statement that contradicts his current statement.
You are fake news and an enemy of the people.
Che Guevara t-shirt heard from. Next.
DeleteIn 2020, A person states a fact and all the snowflakes melt down. Grow the fuck up and get some balls. Everything doesn't end or need to end in poor me isms, charges, blames and excuses.
ReplyDelete^^^ Tell that to Trump!
ReplyDelete"Media meltdown over Trump's suicide warning shows the press can't let its hatred go"
ReplyDeleteIt's not hatred. It's disgust.
It’s hatred pure and simple, the dimwits don’t want to give up the ability to steal money from the taxpayers, how else did Nancy paloosie make $100 million dollars as a life long politician? Trump is trying to stop it and you’re mad? Get over yourselves. Trump is doing an amazing job and you snowflakes can’t handle his tweets.... are you fucking kidding me? Your mad at his tweets people, grow up, get over it and in a way you have yourselves to blame for it. Let the man do his job and watch the tweets virtually disappear, every hour of the day for 3 1/2 years you people are up his ass about something, no wonder he says questionable shit, when you leave him alone he’s fine.
ReplyDeleteJump his ass when he really does something wrong otherwise shut up already.
^^When he really does something wrong?!
ReplyDeleteLike telling governors they have to be nice to him if they want any help from the federal government?
Like asking the leader of another country to investigate your political rival?
Like taking your daughter to China so she could make some sweetheart deals?
I could go on & on, but we all know you by your use of the word "dimwit". He is a piece of shit, a criminal & a traitor.
Speaking of "balls", if Mike Pence had any balls, he would be President.
Der fuhrer bLIEron has spoken! Everybody rejoice! When bLIEron speaks..... people get the Chinese red death, the Kung fu flu, the Kung flu, the Chinese flu, the wuhan flu!
ReplyDeleteIf only you had a clue bLIEron, if only....
By the way, has anyone seen creepy joe? He’s your appointed next god isn’t he bLIEron? Hahahahaha!
TRUMP 2020!
Hey bLIEron, one of my captcha pictures was a confederate state! Hahahahaha!
Rationalize all you want, 7:08, but it's not hatred. It's disgust.
ReplyDeleteHatred is a strong emotion. Trump is not worthy of hatred.
And your wholesale confession of TDS is noted. Thanks!
Delete“Rationalize” dimwits don’t know what that word means, they hate Trump and disgust for the American people is what this is all about.
ReplyDeleteHow bad does it have to get before the focus of the conversations changes from President Trump to anythingfuckingelse? Jesus, I hate my ex-wife but I don't focus on the bitch 24 hours a day. If I did, I would be told and rightly so to:
ReplyDelete1. Let it go.
2. Move on.
3. Lighten the fuck up.
4. Stop the derangement.
5. Change the GD subject.
6. Shut the fuck up, already.
For those of you with TD, sounds familiar doesn't it? Continue on now as you were, we know that you will.
MyBad
Hey Byron, he's talking to you.
ReplyDelete"“Rationalize” dimwits don’t know what that word means, they hate Trump and disgust for the American people is what this is all about."
ReplyDeleteAnd yet the disgust is for Trump, since we ARE American people. Weird.
As for hate, are you familiar with the psychological term "projection?"
Yes, probably more so than you. I'm also familiar with the clinical, obsessive hatred of Trump that has resulted in psychotic behavior, mass shootings on at least two occasions, and singleminded fixation on Trump that makes sufferers unable to objectively evaluate any data or situation without blaming Trump.
DeleteSorta like the way ignorant medieval people blamed witches and the devil and stuff for anything and everything.
Happy to help.
9:06. I know you think you made a point in there somewhere, but where? Weird.
ReplyDelete@906 Hey buddy NUMBER 6 please!
ReplyDeleteAbout sums it up. Explains alot. With certain people all critical thinking is suspended when the subject of Trump comes up.
ReplyDelete^^^^On both sides?
ReplyDeleteDon't pick on Trump!
ReplyDeleteHe hasn't done anything!
"I'm also familiar with the clinical, obsessive hatred of Trump that has resulted in psychotic behavior, mass shootings on at least two occasions"
ReplyDeleteWhich two? Inquiring minds want to know!
